Shelby's Legendary Shawarma — Restaurant in Ontario

The ambience is that of a regular fast food chain. Service was ok. Many customers weren't able to print their receipts due to lack of paper and couldn't get their order number. Despite being advised, it took a few customers before they changed it. Just mentioning this as a side note. The most important aspect of a restaurant is the food. The shawarma had been hyped but I have learnt not to fall for hyped so I went with low to no expectations, hoping to be surprised. Ordered the beef shawarma with fries. The Shawarma was below par. The meat was chewy and didn't taste very fresh. I asked for extra tahini in the shawarma and got extra garlic instead. Not sure why they even added garlic to a beef shawarma. Totally ruined the taste of the Shawarma. I had asked for a pack of garlic sauce on the side and was supremely disappointed as the garlic sauce tasted as it mayo was stored next to a container with garlic. The fries too were cold. Drove down from Toronto to visit family, and had not had Shelby’s for 2 years. It was a great place that had amazing food that was incomparable to osmows. I asked to have new fries made since there was leftover cold ones that were sitting. It was done. was also asked for spicy chicken or not, with garlic sauce or not when ordering, without asking any topping that I thought was asked after when assembling the food. After waiting I was served a shawarma bowl without anyone asking what toppings I wanted. When I had went up to have it changed, with no tomato’s or pickles, Sied an employee flipped it around saying I did not state the toppings I wanted and to “bro don’t that next time”. The attitude was very unprofessional, not to mention the other coworker refusing to give his colleagues name for a review when I had asked. Ended up getting a refund, and leaving very disappointed that I did not get the Shelby’s I waited to get for 2 years. The staff is always super friendly, for them I would give 5 out of 5. And the food is really really good, my family and I come here a lot because the food itself is so good.

However all that being said when I ordered from here last night (Friday Oct 15,2021) and got a LRG Fries Poutine with extra sauces and the Traditional Chicken Bites and I paid $36 with tip otherwise order was around $32. So for $32 the amount of food I actually got was upsetting, even the chicken bites I actually got was pretty sad! When we used to order the chicken bites it used to come in a bigger container and had at least 10 pieces, now it comes in a small container with only 5 pieces. So basically I’m paying for you to cut my wrap into pieces, which is something I could’ve done myself at home. Currently on your website the wraps are on sale for $4.99 but the bites are $9.99 just because they were cut?? Makes no sense to me 🤦‍♀️ How do you go from giving decent proportions for a reasonable price to giving single (at best) proportions but charge for a large and even then ridiculously over charge...
