I'm sad to say that my first experience at Sinbad was not a good one. The cashier who served me was very polite and the atmosphere of the restaurant was wonderful, but the food...
I ordered a Beef Tikka sandwich (wrap) with a side of fries.
First, the good: -The meat was tender, and not chewy. -The vegetables were fresh. -The bread was soft and good enough for a $7.99 wrap. -Speaking of which, it was only 7.99!! Almost $20 after I got a combo with tax and tip, but if you just get the wrap, it would be a very cheap meal.
Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. My sandwich was SO DRY. There was no sauce on it at all, just meat and vegetables with little seasoning. It didn't taste like much and I had to wash it down with water because it was so dry. There just needed to be some sort of moisture to balance out the dry beef and the dry bread. The freshness of the veggies and the meat were nice, but there was a severe lack of flavour and moisture in my wrap. It essentially felt like eating a shawarma wrap without any hummus, tahini, hot sauce, or garlic sauce. When they asked me if I wanted "everything" on my wrap, I didn't expect it to have no sauce and no flavour.
The fries were a similar disaster. I will admit they sat for maybe 5 minutes before I picked them up, so the texture issues might have been my fault, but they were flavourless as well: undersalted and soggy. They ended up in the garbage along with half of my wrap. I just didn't enjoy my meal at all.
With all this said, I don't want to tear down a local business, even if I did have a bad experience. That third star is only there because I don't want to drag down their ratings too much (otherwise, it would be a 2). The atmosphere of the place is lovely, and it's obvious that the people working there care about the restaurant. I will be back to try something else and see if it is any better; I will change my review if my opinion changes.
For now, though, I have trouble recommending Sinbad because of my negative experience with their food. I hope that my next experience will be...

My friend and I visited Sindbad Restaurant tonight at 9:45 PM, hoping to enjoy a peaceful dinner. What we experienced instead was one of the most disrespectful and disappointing encounters we've ever had at any restaurant.
Despite there being plenty of clean, empty tables on the right side of the restaurant, the waiter flat-out refused to seat us. His excuse? They were closing in over an hour and "wouldn’t have time to clean those tables again." Seriously? Since when is it acceptable to turn away paying customers because staff can't be bothered to clean? Isn’t that literally part of the job?
We were treated like an inconvenience—no warmth, no professionalism, just attitude. The way we were dismissed made it feel like we were being judged unfairly, as if two respectful adults would somehow trash the place. It was insulting, rude, and completely unnecessary.
Not only was this poor customer service, it also goes completely against the values of hospitality—especially disappointing coming from a restaurant that represents Middle Eastern culture, which is known for generosity and respect.
We ended up leaving without eating, completely turned off by their attitude. I even took a video of the interaction to document just how poorly we were treated. This is not how any business should operate, and certainly not how you treat people walking in with good intentions.
If you respect your time, money, and dignity—go somewhere else. There are plenty of restaurants that understand what service and hospitality actually mean. Keep in mind these guys will have no legs to stand on to make up nor am I going to remove this review rather will keep others aware of how they deal with...
