We are extremely dissatisfied with our recent visit to your White Oaks location. On February 15th, we celebrated my brother-in-law's birthday with a group of eight adults and three children, but the service and food quality fell far below our expectations.
Our server, Val, was new and acknowledged this at the start of our meal. Despite her efforts to ensure accuracy by repeating our orders, mistakes were made. I ordered one starter fish taco, but two were delivered. Additionally, my wonton nachos with chicken were prepared without chicken.
After placing our orders, we waited approximately 10 minutes without seeing our server again. Unfortunately, this lack of attention continued throughout the meal, leaving us feeling neglected and forcing us to flag down other servers for assistance.
After having to flag down another server for assistance, I had to ask them to check if Val had actually added the chicken to my wonton nachos. It only took minutes for Val to finally return after this inquiry, which raises questions about her attentiveness and priorities. Given the obvious understaffing and extreme busyness of the restaurant on a Saturday night, it's surprising that more staff weren't allocated to handle the demand. This lack of staffing seemed to put undue pressure on the servers, leading to subpar service.
When Val returned, her response to the mistake with my order was dismissive, implying that I hadn't ordered chicken. However, I had clearly stated my request, and she had even repeated it back to me after taking our order. I had corrected her when she initially misunderstood my order, and yet the mistake was still missed. This lack of attention to detail was disappointing and frustrating.
The food quality was also subpar. A friend of mine ordered the brisket platter, which was unfortunately soggy. My sister's soup packed flavor, and her fish tacos had little to no sauce. She ended up taking them home to eat, and I also took my wonton nachos home, as I had been looking forward to enjoying them with chicken. To make matters worse, my mom and dad's French fries, which were supposed to be a hot side dish, were cold. Only a few dishes, like my husband's Southern fried chicken, were satisfactory.
In contrast to our excellent experience at your North location on New Year's Eve a few years ago, this visit was a letdown. For over $100, we expected better service and food quality. We hope that you will take our feedback seriously and take necessary steps to improve your service, staffing,...
Read moreBeertown has become one of our favorite go-to spots. It’s where we unwind, catch up, and just enjoy each other’s company. The staff and management are top-notch—the food’s great, and they always treat us incredibly well.
Last night our original plans didn’t go as planned, so I made the spontaneous call to head there for dinner. We forgot it was game night, which meant the place was packed, loud and full of cheers, and quickly realized it wasn’t going to work for us, as my wife and I were in need of some down time.
Being a full time musician it's not often we have a reprieve from the hustle bustle of loud and large crowds.
We were halfway back to the car when someone called out to us—Michael, the manager, running across the lot. He said, “They didn’t turn you away, did they? You two are always so kind, we wouldn't want that.” We explained the situation, and that we weren't turned away but we're looking for something a bit more quiet and without missing a beat, he offered us a tour of the heated patio, personally walked us there, found the warmest table for us and even brought out a warm blanket for my wife.
It was one of the kindest gestures I’ve experienced at a resturant. They’ve always gone above and beyond for us, but last night reminded me just how much heart they put into everything. What could’ve been a bust turned into one of the best impromptu date nights we’ve had.
Huge thanks to Michael and the Beertown White Oaks team—you truly make people feel seen and cared...
Read moreFirst off let me start by saying the food and beer were great. Our sever was good too, but her manager is the reason for the 1 star service. The issue we had was one of the most bizarre things i have ever had at a restaruant. As a group of friends, we get together every few months for food and some beers. We are late 40's, easy going guys - dont cause trouble. We chose Beertown for our get together on Sat the 15th. We arrived at 7:15 for our party of 9. The majority of the party ordered food, a couple guys did not. We all had beers/cocktails. The place started to empty out around 9:00. We were informed by our server, through her manager that we have had all had close to 2-3 drinks each and that we werent allowed more than 4, and that the guys who didnt order food, had to order something to get another drink. Ive never heard of such a thing in my life. We were not rowdy, rude or drunk. It seemed like some weird arbitrary rule the manager put in place. We were just talking, enjoying ourselves and wanted to have a few more. We all took Ubers so that we wouldnt be driving, but again - were not drinking to excess by any means. This was unlike any experience Ive ever had dining out/going to a bar. Especially since the place was getting empty by 9. I doubt they will hold anyone to this standard on St.Patrick's Day? I doubt it. Needless to say, we wont...
