NEVER AGAIN. Sofos' gyros were highly recommended by my in-laws, so we decided to place an order for pick-up. I ordered a pork gyro w/ salad, my husband got a club sub and the in-laws got gyro dinners (comes with greek salad and fries). To my surprise, my pork gyro w/ salad was charged at $10.99 which is the same price as a dinner which comes with salad AND fries. The price listed on their website is $9.73 for a wrap with medium salad and $10.99 for a wrap with small salad and fries. I called to make sure there wasn't a mistake. They said that the price online was outdated. I really hate when businesses don't honour their listings online. Everything should be updated so that customers aren't rudely surprised.
My second surprise came upon opening my box to find that my salad was no bigger than the salad that came with fries (considering they are the same price, I should have gotten much more salad). Note: It looked like 2 different people packed the meals because my salad looked like all lettuce and the salads in the dinner came with all the tomatoes, cucumbers, and green peppers packed on top (the green peppers were actually completely missing from my salad).
The third issue was with the pork gyro itself. It was significantly smaller than the other gyros (I've included a picture). Parts of the meat were very chewy because they didn't trim the cartilage (and used a pretty cheap cut). So I got royally ripped off.
Let's move on to the club sub, which I have also included a picture of as part of this review. The bread was stale and you got one layer of thin lunch meat inside. Honestly, it just tasted like bread. My in-laws said that it looks like the quality of their food has decreased significantly and it just isn't what it used to be. Their meals at least seemed half decent though.
I've had a sub from them before and I wasn't impressed. Given my experience this time, I will not waste my money here in the future. I refuse to support any place that has such disgraceful business practices. I hope this review is helpful. Google doesn't seem to want to post my other picture and keeps posting the same one. And I can't seem to delete...
Read moreI recently came to Sofos for the first time in about 17 years. It was just as delicious as I remembered it. The food is so good. I was however, extremely disappointed by the service. First, upon entering the restaurant, no one greeted me and everyone looked angry and miserable. I ordered despite this because everyone has a bad day.
As I was waiting, I overheard a conversation the employees were having about someone who called in... it sounded like it may have been a complaint. The blonde lady kept on repeating herself very loudly saying was it a chick, was it a chick?.... it was very unprofessional.
I got my food and was dining in. Soon after a man who had ordered online came in. His order wasn't ready. They hadn't made his fries. He was upset and questioned them. The blonde lady very rudely responded to him stating it was their policy to wait until the customer walks in tp drop the fries. He was worried because he was a transport driver and he parked on the road to quickly run in. He tried to explain that he couldn't wait, but the blonde lady said well that's our policy, do you want your money back. He said no, he was hungry. He got his food and ran out the door. I felt bad for him.
After he left, they were talking about him... again, in a very unprofessional way. The blonde mentioned how many people complain about the fries. Obviously their policy is not clear to those who order online. She just went on and on and made it seem like it was a nuisance to her. It was disappointing.
And then she started talking about her personal life. Why? Why do I need to hear that.
I definitely will not be in a rush to...
Read moreMy family and I have been going to Sofo’s for years. There’s a reason for this, the food is always EXCELLENT along with the portions and atmosphere. I always hated that they didn’t deliver, then last week I discovered that if I ordered online I could get it delivered. Life changing. I threw out my back so I haven’t been able to get to the grocery store and I’ve ordered from there 3X this week alone and the food was excellent each time. Those honeyballs should be illegal because they’re just too good but they can’t be good for the waistline or your health. I ordered the peanut butter ones and it’s was glorious, pure heaven. My only complaint is the price, no matter what I order it seems to be $30 or more. They get you on the delivery $5 plus $2 to use the debit machine (really?) plus taxes. It all adds up but I guess that’s everywhere you go. At least they’re consistent and the food simply couldn’t get any better, honestly it’s excellent. Well...
