For being a one of its kind on the area, this was a great spot for some good food. 2 of us went to try it for the first time, and although a bit pricy (around $50 for 2 people), it was definitely a nice change from the other eateries in the area. The service was quick and staff was friendly.
A bit of a breakdown of what we got;
Nashville hot chicken sandwich- out of everything we ordered this was probably the most underwhelming. The chicken was really tough/chewy and over cooked, and was not hot/spicy at all. Perhaps we got some chicken that was cooked ahead of time and had been sitting out, however we were a bit disappointed with this, I will say though the flavour was really good! If the chicken was more tender and juicy and had more heat (perhaps a mild and hot option) it would have been a lot better.
Nona Burger- pretty decent burger, had great taste and were definitely satisfied with it! Not necessarily a game changer, but very good!
Big Mac Fries- we got a small and it was a fantastic portion size, looked more like a medium, there was a lot of bang for your buck and the fries tasted great! Definitely recommend upgrading from the normal fries.
Dill Pickle Poutine- like the Big Mac fries, the portion size was fantastic, we just got the small and couldnāt even finish it, flavour was great and again Iād recommend upgrading the regular fires in a combo to something like this.
All in all it was a pretty good dinner, curious if they will expand to some more bbq items in the future, definitely worth a stop if your in the Cayuga area. If they nail down their chicken and offered a really good fried chicken I think it could do wonders...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUnfortunately my first experience with this local eatery was not a good one⦠ordered the popcorn chicken and it was way over cooked, burnt nuggets and the fries were soggy and tasted like burnt oil⦠the only thing that was good was the slaw but then that came from a bag and the dressing was good but there wasnāt enough⦠the smell of burnt oil stayed in my house for the rest of the eveningā¦I did take the food back and a nice young man gave me my money back and appologized but having worked in the food industry both cooking and serving I am very mindful that the owners should be a little more vigilant of what is being or not being done in their kitchen⦠I watched my food being prepared and I think that if the staff focused a little more on my food instead of what they did the night before maybe I would have had better food⦠maybe? afterall my order was very simple and not complicated and one must remember that if you overcook or burn something in the fryer, then everything you cook in the fryer after that will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy partner and I are from out of town and weāre just visiting. After buying some beer from Concession Rd Brewery we were wanting some food and saw Talbot Street Grill. The gentleman had mentioned his apologies for opening late as his son was under the weather ā nothing he had to apologize for as itās completely understandable. However, his hospitality was noticed. He provided a discount, which he did not have to do, and took the price of the fries off our bill to show his gratitude. Behaviour like this alone makes me happy to support his business and wanting to return. Then it came time to eat the food. I got the chicken burger and my partner got the smash burger. Let me tell you 100/10. The food was superb. We both agree itās some of the best weāve had.
What a great experience. If you read this review do not hesitate to visit! It was well worth the...
