TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
My husband and I went for dinner at Thai Palace, the food is generally pretty decent. We were seated at a table and when we asked for a booth, we were told that we "couldn't be seated there". Ok, so we sat at the table and waited 10 MINUTES for someone to greet or acknowledge us. It wasn't even that busy in the restaurant. Finally, the same guy that seated us came over and sat us at the original table we requested. Weird, but ok. So we literally sat at that table for another 5-10 minutes before our server came over to acknowledge us or offer us a drink.
By this time, we had waited twenty minutes for anyone to say hello to us. We were a bit bothered... the server came over, a young woman, and we explained to her that we were a bit frustrated and that we were about to walk out before she finally arrived. We were just exasperated, expecting a mild apology and a pleasant encounter.
BUT NO. This young woman turned to us and snidely, with attitude said... "well, did you want to leave then...?" and stepped aside. I was shocked. We walked out. I guess Thai Palace can afford to be terribly rude to its customers. I will never step foot in there again. That rude young woman had the nerve to insinuate that she was doing US a favour.
Unbelievable. Go to the Thai restaurant in Tecumseh instead. They at least treat their customers...
Read moreI recently dined at Thai Palace and was completely blown away by the experience. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance set a delightful stage for what was to come. The decor was stunning, striking a perfect balance between elegance and comfort, and creating an inviting atmosphere that elevated our dining experience.
The real star of the show, however, was the food. Each dish was a delight, not just in flavor but also in presentation. The attention to detail in the plating was remarkable, turning each course into a feast for the eyes as well as the palate.
As someone who enjoys a good kick of spice in my meals, I was thrilled with how they handled the spice levels. They were able to perfectly cater to my preference for a spicier dish, while also accommodating my mother's milder preference. It's not often that a restaurant can navigate varying spice preferences so adeptly, but Thai Palace did it with ease.
In summary, Thai Palace is more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary experience. The combination of the beautiful decor, the exquisite food, and the attentive service makes it a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates fine Thai cuisine. Highly...
Read more30+ minutes before a waitress asks if anyone has helped us. I guess this place doesn't assign zones to servers? I had the green curry which had no depth of flavor besides salt. And when I say salt it was like a whole shaker was dumped into it. Asked for some coconut milk to hopefully make it edible (I was starving). Didn't help so I just ate the veggies and tofu on the side after draining off as much of the sauce as possible. The waitress thought the sauce was cooked to long and then also just made up her mind that I had never had green curry before. I told her where I used to live we had 5 different Thai places all different owners and the green curry tasted similar amongst the different restaurants and it was my favorite dish. Also living close to Chicago which has the most thai restaurants outside of Thailand I've experienced a wide variety of Thai food there as well since Thai food is one of my favorite ethnic foods. I'm sorry to say this place is just a subpar place. If you enjoy it great! Chances are you haven't ever had...
