In town from Ohio for a graduation and my wife and I enjoy sushi. So we took her son and his family for dinner to The Dragonfly last night. It was worth it, the food was excellent and each plate was so beautifully presented. We started with tasty seeweed salad, then a eel rolls and shitake mushroom roll, but here is the best part beside the traditional soy sauce that is at every table, they made two house sauce a tasty creamy sauce called, Dragonfly and my favorite a shitake mushroom reduction sauce, the earthyness of that sauce was wonderful. Then we had steam shrimp dumplings Thai coconut curry soup which was served in beautiful tea cups, with 3 big dumpling which were very tasty but the sauce had bite to it which hit the back of your throat.
Then the rest of the order came, Veggie supreme, Panko Salmon, Dynamite roll, Volcano roll and their signature roll Dragonfly roll. Each one of these rolls were delicious but my two favorites are the Panko Salmon and the Dragonfly. They do make everything fresh which can sell out if that is a popular dish, wish happen last night they ran out of panko chicken for their Banh Mi sliders.
The owner and chef Shane and his wife Michelle are very down to earth we had a nice chat. The ambiance was very comfortable and pleasant and the music at the right level. I will be definitely coming back to the DRAGONfly on my next visit and I will be recommending this place to my brother-in-laws and sister-in-law.
See you next time Shane and Michelle. Albert and Lynne...
Read moreAbsolutely unacceptable service especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. I decided to call a few hours early to place my order since they said on their Instagram that they would appreciate it if customers could call in and place their orders in advance. I ordered a large amount of food and arrived on time to pick it up and pay. When I got there, the staff including the sushi chef were not wearing any masks and just sitting down and talking with each other. Once I came in, only the waitress quickly put on a mask but not the chef. They told me they didn’t start my order yet... when I called hours ago to have it ready on time.
They weren’t busy with anything else so there was really no excuse for forgetting to put my order in. I can forgive that, people make mistakes, but it was still frustrating because I was in a rush which is why I took the time to place an order in advance as they had suggested. But, I can’t accept the fact that the sushi chef never put on a mask, and was humming and singing over the sushi while making it. No mask on. And we know that COVID-19 and even colds and flus can be spread even more when talking, so singing was not acceptable. It was just gross and made me feel uncomfortable. Honestly I am kind of glad they didn’t make my order until I got there so I could see that the chef handling the food does not wear a mask.
Disappointed. I would say don’t order from here if you care about having your order ready on time and if you care...
Read moreI want to love this place, but I have really mixed feelings about it. I've been there 3 times and their rolls and cocktails (and spring rolls)are fabulous, but some of their other food is mediocre. Their sliders tasted like they came from McDonalds, their salad dressing was incredibly sour, and my friend got served rotten avocado in their meal. The service is decent, and they did refund the cost of the meal with the spoiled avocado, however, I'm not sure if I want to go again. I can understand why some of the rolls are on the pricier side, but I feel like some of their food is overpriced for what it is...they have reduced portions but kept prices the same (at least with the sliders). This place has a lovely atmosphere, and I think if you went for drinks with friends and got a couple rolls you would enjoy it, but I can't...
