The hallmark of a good cafe is good coffee. The hallmark of a great cafe is good coffee and a great atmosphere (vibe). Cafe Amor excels at both. Whether it's the first time that you walk in or the one hundredth, the staff greet you with a warm hello. Rest assured that the second time that you come in the staff will greet you by your first name. I stll don't know how they manage to recall everyone's name(?) The owners, Maurizio and Amor have gone out of their way to create a warm welcoming environment where you are a stranger only once. To borrow an old cliche, it's a place "where everyone knows your name". It's not long before fellow customers become friends. Have I mentioned that the coffee is great! Ditto for the food which pays tribute to Mexico. Those are some of the reasons why Cafe Amor has become known throughout the city and why people, like myself, come from the other end of town, on a daily basis to enjoy good coffee tasty food, including desserts and good friends on a...
Read moreWas in the area and wanted to go for lunch. I decided to stop here due to all the reviews I've heard (I had no idea they were closed on Monday). When parking a guy pulled up behind me the second I stopped and got out. Told me I couldn't park here and went on about something to do with Dollarama. I asked him where the parking was for the business's on the street as I wanted to attend one. He said there was no parking. I got in my car and left. I definitely won't be going back if random dudes are going to pull up and block my car telling me to leave. I can see how other women would find a dude rolling up behind their car, blocking it would be a little concerning. I was on my own and definitely was uncomfortable having that happen. I was kind of excited to try this place 😒 but I guess it didn't matter since they aren't open on Mondays (I found out cause I tried to park elsewhere and...
Read morePeople are lovely here and very welcoming. The food and drinks are great. But I wouldnt come to study because they will kick you out. I understand they want to make sure everyone has a chance to sit and enjoy themselves but kicking someone out publicly and without warning is another thing. They should get a sign that says there’s a time limit during peak hours because otherwise you’ll be kicked. I dont appreciate feeling blindsided like this. I was there for about 2 hours and in support of the business I got a food item and 2 drinks in that time. I was barely halfway through my 2nd drink after I had just purchased it when I was told to leave. It’s a shame because I loved everything about the place but not knowing about this time limit policy and being told to go in front of everyone ruins the...
