My wife and I were visiting someone in Windsor on a Thursday and left around 8 pm. We wanted to get some dinner before heading home. I did a check through Google and ended up picking this one, mainly because of hours and wide selection on the menu.

We got there and one side is restaurant, the other side is more pub style (lots of TVs, few pool tables) - wasn’t very busy but wasn’t dead which is a good sign. And a good mix of people.

Went to the pub side - had a server (Hollywood Sam) & she was amazing. Despite her judging eyes because of her psych background 😉

There was a burger deal and a chicken/shrimp deal but we both ended up getting the chicken shish kebab because it sounded the best and you each get 3 sides with it. Between us, we got the fattoush salad, Greek salad, leafless salad, roasted potatoes, vegetables, & rice pilaf.

Everything was good and lots to go around! The Greek salad had no olives - gotta have olives in there! But good amount of other things and lots of dressing. The leafless salad was very good, again lots of everything, including beets, and good dressing (maybe the tangiest dressing as per wife?). The fattoush was good with the pita chips on top - I had never had that so it was interesting. Maybe not as much parsley as one might expect, again as per wife.

The roasted potatoes were very good, large and seasoned well. I didn’t try the pilaf but it comes with marinara sauce on it so that’s interesting. The vegetables were green beans and carrots, almonds on top. Very good.

The chicken came not on a kebab but several very large pieces with good spices!! So much food - definitely an extra meal worth! Only comes with one pita bread though so you can make a nice sandwich but might be nice to get a couple.

No local craft beers unfortunately.

Hollywood said the previous owners were Greek and the new owners (several years in though) are Mediterranean. I was curious what the background was - seemed like Greek but they have Mexican dishes, Italian pasta/pizza, burgers, apps, etc etc etc. Huge variety so I think anyone can find something.

Got very busy a bit later, maybe more around 9-10. They have a late night menu after 10 I think she said. If I’m in Windsor again, I might just go back. Only have the one...

I have lived in Windsor all my life and have never tried The Hungry Wolf. I don’t know why but I’m glad I finally went for dinner!! It was a Friday evening and packed. There was no room on the dining room side so we were offered to be seated on the bar side. Which was fine, we didn’t have kids with us. Was actually quiet over there, a few people scattered around. Mostly sitting at the bar. Our server came over very quickly and took our drink order and left menus. I was so surprised with the choices on the menu. Everything sounded so delicious. Service was so quick, our server was super attentive even though he was serving the whole bar side and also some tables on the dining room side. We didn’t mind if we had to wait a bit as he was super busy and doing a lot. Food was stellar!!! Couldn’t have asked for anything better. Fresh, flavourful and hot!!! Piping hot. We took our time and enjoyed the atmosphere, they had some great tunes on. Price was very reasonable. We were so satisfied, we wanted to return the next day! We will definitely be returning, it’s a new favourite spot for us. We cannot wait to try more delicious items...

First, the good: portion sizes make for great value for money, the food is always good and always fresh. Table service in the restaurant is also pretty decent.

The bad: the weekday lunch rush completely overwhelms this restaurant. I'm not sure where the disconnect is because they have plenty of staff and all seem to be doing their jobs, but you can call an hour ahead and they still won't start your order until you pay when you arrive. Totally ridiculous given that they specifically offer take out by phone order, it's not a special request or unusual for them. I love the food but this is not a good choice for weekday work lunches, especially if you've got a 30 minute lunch like the average person does.

My star rating is based on the excellent quality and value you receive, balanced against the management/organization struggle that this business has a hard time working through with take out orders. They really do have great food. Just don't order for take out at lunch time or you'll owe your...

I was in Windsor for a job and we all went to The Hungry Wolf Restaurant/Time out Bar and Grill. I was on the Time Out Bar and Grill side however I believe the two places were connected because there was a way through and the staff was going to the other side where the kitchen was. The place was very clean and had plenty of TV's to watch the game on. There were also billiard tables where people were playing pool as well. The service was a bit slow however it was probably due to the fact I was there on 1$ wing night and it was very busy. I ordered the Deluxe Gyro which was delicious and it came with fries and a garden salad. The portions were big and worth every penny. The staff was very kind and courteous, I would recommend stopping by this place if you're in Windsor and want to catch the game at the same time. Real great atmosphere IMO.

My favourite "go to" restaurant! Lots of choice on the menu. Reasonable family friendly prices. All the food is cooked fresh from scratch, no frozen and reheated food on the menu. GREAT homestyle cooking. Highly recommend the veal parmesan with spaghetti, Gyros, shawarma, all the salads, pizza, nachos, burgers, wings... well lets face it, it's all awesome! You really can't go wrong. Also super friendly wait staff/cooks. Everyone is welcoming. Make you feel like family from your first visit. Recently renovated inside too. Looks beautiful. As a side note; if you are on a keto/low carb diet. You can order the gyros or shawarma (see pic) with no wrap. Paired with a house or greek salad makes a fantastic meal. You won't leave hungry. ;)
