Yardie Vibez Jamaican Kitchen and Lounge — Restaurant in Ontario

This place is an absolute GEM to have locally! The owner is obviously passionate, we see it every time we come in and get to chat with him. Hands down the best Caribbean food in Chatham- Kent area.

We often have a Lenten requirement when eating, and this place is amazing because it can accommodate either a vegan menu or some amazing meats.

Vegan: there is a fantastic Ital meal that comes with excellently spiced veggies, rice; and your choice of other side like beans. The plantain is always fried to perfection. VERY filling plate for a fair price.

Meat: the meat selection is really solid. The protein gets marinated for days at a time so the flavour is deep inside, then smoked on the bbq for amazing flavours. The jerk pork is my favorite, and the oxtail is also amazing.

Everyone we get a chance to chat with the owner he’s dropping knowledge on us or having us try something new he’s working on. It’s exactly what you want an authentic restaurant to be, a journey through a culture with flavors.

We love coming here and can’t wait to keep trying more of the menu.

When we first discovered Yardie Vibez it was a revelation, as a longtime fan of Jamaican food, what a delicious spot to have in Chatham.

But i have a few things to mention to the owner/management to sustain this great reputation....

-Please ensure food quality / prep is consistent, lately some meals are great and other times, not so much. Flavors seem to vary week by week depending on who's cooking.

Egg rolls lately have been full of bone fragments which are incredibly dangerous in an eggroll when you aren't expecting bones. Please fix this, I'm scared to order again.

Further, upon opening and inspecting the eggrolls they are mainly filled with rice... a few weeks ago they were mainly filled with meat... rice is a cheap filler ingredient and not worth the price.

Sometimes a sauce is provided with them, other times it isn't.

Timing - often times the provided pickup time for takeout orders is off by 20+ minutes, please work on giving realistic time estimates for orders, I don't want to rush and get there on time, and wait for another 20 minutes once I'm there.

Was looking for a new place to try and the reviews for this place we're excellent. After trying the food today I can tell you that they were 100% accurate.

Popped in for some lunch. My man was super polite and nice. I asked him what the spiciest lunch special they have is and he recommended the jerked chicken.

I just pulled up a stool and listened to some sweet Caribbean music that was bumping in the background while I waited. Could hear another customer and everyone in the kitchen just singing the whole song together. I really had some positive vibes from this place.

To top it all off, the food was incredible. The portion was massive and now I have enough for another small meal from the same purchase. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu.
