I recently visited this 6ixy wings location a local wings joint that left me with a bad taste in more ways than one. From the exorbitant prices to the lackluster quality of the food, this place failed to live up to the hype.

First and foremost, the pricing is simply outrageous. I expected to pay a premium for quality wings, but the cost here was far beyond reasonable. It felt more like I was investing in a small poultry farm rather than enjoying a casual dining experience. The menu offered little justification for the hefty price tags, leaving me wondering if the wings were plated with gold.

Moving on to the main event – the wings. While the variety of flavors was impressive, the taste did not match the anticipation. The wings were disappointingly overcooked, resulting in a dry and chewy texture that made me question the chef's expertise. What's worse, the promised "loaded fries" were not a delightful addition but an overpowering assault on the taste buds. Nothing loaded about it other than store bought fries, ranch sauce and a good chunk of chilli flakes. No good flavour in these fries and not enjoyable as your mouth is on fire. It felt like they had dumped an entire bottle of hot sauce on the fries, making them more of a challenge than a side dish.

Cute little place to grab a bite right on Broadway. There are free parking lots nearby and street parking, but depending on the time of day and what is happening downtown it may be a little difficult to find parking.

Seating is extremely limited, and it's not a full service restaurant. You'll order at the counter, and go to the counter to pick-up your food bag when your number is called. The menu is displayed on an overhead board, and there's a nice breakdown of spice levels for the wing sauces on the ordering counter. The food is already packed in take away containers if you need to take any of it home.

Overall we were happy with the food. The wings were a nice size, and the sauce was flavourful. The fries portion was what I would expect for the price point with the burger. The burger was beautifully cooked and tasty. Although the menu item is titled "Hamburger" it actually is a cheeseburger so be careful ordering if that makes a difference for you. We were disappointed that there were no basic condiments available (ketchup, malt vinegar, mustard), but the fries had a seasoned salt that gave them a nice flavour still so we didn't stay disappointed for long. I am a huge fan of wings and after seeing our illustrious mayor Lisa Post, post wing pics I had to try.

I chose simple salt and pepper with loaded fries.

The wings were ok, the fries fun but would I return, unfortunately not.
