This place is a nice step up from the previous Thai restaurant with the food much more flavourful and attention to detail. The owner's responses to the bad reviews written earlier in their first few months indicate that they care enough improve, which is a good sign, although some of the reviews appear to be written by those who don't have much familiarity with authentic Thai food (i.e., haven't been to Thailand or are accustomed to westernized/bastardized Thai food).
We (seven of us ranging in age from 21 months to 80 years old) indulged in the pad Thai, Pad See-Ew, soft rolls, coconut rice, pineapple fried rice, and pineapple curry. The only disappointing dish was the pineapple curry, which was somewhat lacking in flavour yet still a bit too spicy for most of us despite asking for it to be mild.
For those who have compared this to the previous Thai restaurant that was here, the food was prepared on time for pickup (rather than waiting 20 minutes more upon arrival), and with the exception of one dish (cashews in the pad see-ew), detail paid to our food sensitivities/allergies (i.e., nut & sesame-free, no onions, informed which dishes were GF). And as mentioned, the food was much more tasty.
Overall I would rate this newly established Thai restaurant a 4.5, and will upgrade to a 5 if we experience the same quality and service on our next visit. In the meantime, I wish the new owners all the best for their thriving...
Read moreHonestly, it's hard for me to give this review, and I wasn't planning on doing it, but it's the right thing to do.
I bought take out last Monday, I got some fried rice, curry noodles, spring rolls, and something else, but to be honest with you, it was the worst food ever and I'm surprised because I tried food at this place ages ago before Covid-19. Perhaps it's new owners and new cooks? Not sure but it was beyond bland, and by bland I don't mean that it needed to be spicy but it was beyond bland as if they don't even add any form of sodium like salt in their food.
It was some of the worst food I have ever tried in my life and this is coming from someone who is a chef, travels for food, I eat takeout almost every day and go to many restaurants. If I ever crave Thai food I would definitely sucj it up and drive to Guelph to have good Thai food.
I will never go back here to spend my hard earned money.
Nevertheless, the service is amazing and the lady that's always there at the cash is very kind and polite but that fact is independent to how bad the food is. I actually threw out the noodles in the garbage, there was no...
Read moreI dont mind the food here, it's not as good as Thai for you was but it's good...my issue is with the owners always feeling like they have to argue with the paying customers that had a issue with their food, just say sorry that you were disappointed, please give us another chance and stop being so argumentative...it really reflects poorly on your establishment
UPDATE, thank you for your response but questioning whether or not your customer understands if they liked your food or not is insulting, of course they know what is going on they show up and order what you have to offer and then they can write a review based on their own opinion if they enjoyed it or not, it is that simple, it really is. When you become defensive and try to offer up a reason why they made not have enjoyed your food is in my opinion not the way to deal with it. You can simply apologize, not for how you made the food bc many may have enjoyed it, you simply apologize that they didn't enjoy it...
