Our experience was incredibly disappointing, from the moment we walked in until the time we left.
We called ahead to confirm their hours and were told they would be taking last orders until 11:20 PM. Based on that, we arrived in good time — only to be handed menus no water. We had to request water ourselves, which was brought out after 20–25 minutes.
We ordered naan, and while two were brought out, we were told the third would take an additional 10 minutes. When we asked if we could switch the third naan for a roti instead, we were told yes — but five minutes later, they informed us the roti had burned and would need another 5–10 minutes.
The food itself was no better. The biryani rice was undercooked, and the chicken gravy and dal makhani tasted no better than what you’d find at a substandard roadside dhaba in India. No one checked in on us, no apologies were offered, and the staff seemed completely disengaged. We weren’t the only ones frustrated — guests at another table also looked visibly upset with their experience.
What made it worse was the attitude of the staff. One person who introduced herself as the manager seemed unaware of basic restaurant policies. When we questioned the automatically added 18% gratuity (we were a group of 5 and 2 toddlers), she insisted it was mandatory. Only when we checked the fine print ourselves did we find out it was optional.
Service: Poor and inattentive Food: Sub-par Quantity & Value: Small portions, overpriced Staff Attitude & Management: Unprofessional and unhelpful
Definitely won’t be returning. Go only if you’re okay with overpaying for bad food, worse service and want your evening...

The food at Bhukkad Bar & Grill was deeply disappointing, especially considering the exorbitant prices (most dishes around $23 each). At that price point, the least you expect is fresh, flavourful food — but that was absolutely not the case.
🟡 Navratan Kurma tasted like it came from a premade gravy packet, with a frozen bag of mixed vegetables straight out of FreshCo or Walmart — and many veggies were still raw and undercooked. Completely unacceptable.
🟢 Chicken Kurchan (Chef’s Special) was the only dish that showed any effort. It had decent flavour — not mind-blowing, but at least eatable and balanced. Sadly, it stood out only because the rest was so poor.
⚪ Romaali Roti was just a thin chapati — not what you’d expect from something labeled “romaali.”
⚪ Garlic Naan had no garlic, no aroma, no freshness — just seemed like plain store-bought pita.
Overall, I left disappointed and feeling like I wasted money. If you’re going to charge premium prices, you need to deliver premium food. Sadly, that didn’t...
Read moreOshawa. They offer a wide variety of delicious dishes, and some very nicely presented drinks.
My friend and I started with drinks while we pondered the menu. She had their Blue Lagoon and I had their Chadta Suraj, beautifully presented in a hanging globe (see photos). I later had their Talli Hua, served in a mushroom shaped glass. They were all good!
We finally decided on their Chicken Tikka Momo, Reshmi Chicken Kababs, Goat Rara (Chef's Special), along with their Garlic Naan and Chilli Naan. They were all good but our clear favourite was the Goat Rara, with its rich flavour and tender texture. The owner later surprised us with a vegetarian dish, Malai Kofta Royalty. It was all very tasty!
For dessert, we had their Ras Malai Remix, the perfect finish to a really good meal!
With good food, very attractive presentation, and friendly service, this place is worth a visit. They also have a small room on their second level for private events. Check them...
