Fat Bastard Burrito Co. — Restaurant in Oshawa

Got beef with the Simcoe North location in Oshawa and I dont mean on my empenadas. Poster on the front of the store viewed from inside the store shows that you can get shrimp on the loaded waffle fries but when you try to order it they won't let you. False advertising. Other than that the food was great.

Going to update my review with more recent experiences. My biggest issue with this place is the service from one of the employees. Time is very limited for me, I work long hours keeping our power grid running and I have a newborn which my wife needs a lot of help with due to a back injury that prevents her from walking without pain. I get an average of two hours of sleep a night so when I order food I call in on my way home so I dont have to waste valuable time waiting in the store for my food to be made. The woman who answered my the phone refused to take my order, trying to force me to use their app which doesnt work on my phone, keeps giving me error prompts. When I told her that, she said she was too busy to take my order. I came in to the store 5 minutes later and it was empty. So I am dropping my review to 2 stars as a result of poor customer service. The reason I did not give less is because the food is good and other employees that work here are nice. There was a guy working here the other day that gave me a free drink for no reason other than being a nice person and hes why I still come here. this was one of my favourite burrito places, especially with how local it is to me. however the last few experiences i’ve had here have made it so i won’t be coming back.

ordered a beef barbacoa burrito tonight. when the person behind the counter began making it they called it a ground beef burrito. i corrected them and double checked that i had ordered barbacoa. the employee who took the order confirmed, and we proceeded. nope - burrito was made with ground beef. i called it out again and said i didn’t order ground beef. the employee told me they were the same thing. i said no, they aren’t, and one is more expensive on your menu. they showed me my receipt, where they had charged me for ground beef. again - not what i ordered. they told me they don’t carry barbacoa at this location - even though they didn’t bring that fact up at all when i ordered, and even though it’s on the menu. the only saving grace, and the only reason this is a 2 star review and not a 1, is they offered to make me a different burrito with another protein.

i suggest you ensure the staff understand that different proteins are not interchangeable, and if they need to make a substitution they actually clear it with the customer first. i won’t be returning to...

This location is a literal joke and will never get mine, or my families business. They hire people who make this company look like a complete joke and do not have any respect for the paying customers. I’ve been to this location twice now and both times I had the exact same experience with both employees I had encountered. Horrible customer service.

LET ME EXPLAIN: this location will charge you for a BIG and give you a size LiTTLE. Will argue and gaslight you when confronting them about the size portion. If I am paying for something, please have the respect to give me what I paid for, not LESS THAN! On both occasions they had refused to remake the burritos or give me a full refund. The one time I had even complained about the burrito not being toasted long enough as well with the portion size and he still argued to not grill it more. I took a bite in afterwards because I was starving and the cheese was still cold!
