We finished a late night concert and we were craving some food. A friend had recommended Habibz to us, after having a great experience there. I'm not sure if it's normal for them to not have a menu posted anywhere or if they plan on changing this in the future. But they do have an iPad set up, where you can digitally browse their menu. Just one though, so I'd recommend browsing online before you come. That way you know what you're going to order. Prices are extremely reasonable. Our friend had warned they are very popular and there can be a wait. We waited approximately 15 minutes and took our dinner for take out . I must say everything was DELICIOUS! We ordered the Sweet Chicken and rice platter, the Shawarma poutine, and a Chopped Cheese Sandwich. The fries carried really well. (Nothing worse than soggy fries.) They tasted great, were loaded and flavorful. The Chopped cheese sandwich was reminiscent of a Philly cheese steak. My other half was SUPER impressed with how stuffed it was. We split it and were both happy. The rice portion was a generous size and was flavorful as well. All in all we were both impressed with the flavor and quality of the food. We will definitely be back Update: Had them again and this time got the Chili Chili, a larger sized Shawarma Poutine and Gorilla Fries. (They're just like In & Out Animal Fries.) Everything was AMAZING again.

Ordered 2 platters and was provided options by the teller (Salman) if I wanted rice and salad, rice only, rice and fries etc for each platter combination. I chose rice and fries for one platter and rice only for the other platter. The price was showing up $2 more for each platter than what was shown on their menus so I asked the teller why is there a price difference and he said that’s the price with tax. After paying, the teller did not give me my receipt until I asked for it. Trusting the teller I did not question it and didn’t look at the receipt until after having the meal. It’s only after I checked the receipt I realized not only was I charged $2 more for each platter but also got charged tax on top of that realizing why the teller didn’t give me my receipt willingly. So I guess there is a $2 surcharge for altering the order combinations which I was not aware of and the teller instead of telling me about the surcharge said it’s the price with tax. Now it’s just $5 bucks plus taxes that I paid which is not a big deal and which is not the point of this review. The fact that the teller was dishonest and so greedy for $4 extra dollars that he had to lie to make the sale is why I will never be returning to this place. This is a matter of principle. Being a halal restaurant, it’s disappointing to see them being dishonest to customers.

I ordered a Jerk Chicken platter through Uber Eats an hour ago and was disappointed to find that the salad, which is always included with the dish, was missing. I called the restaurant to inquire and was told they didn’t have salad available today. Fair enough, but the situation quickly became frustrating. When I asked for clarification, the person I spoke to handed the phone over to a team lead (I didn’t catch her name). She insisted that the reason I didn’t receive the salad was that I had chosen the “rice only” option. However, the app offers three options for the platter: “rice only,” “fries only,” and “rice and fries.” Nowhere on the app did it mention that I had to select something else in order to get salad. The picture of the meal is also advertised with salad. I was simply told that I didn’t receive the salad because of my selection, which felt misleading. If the salad wasn’t available, I understand, but to imply that it was my fault for the mix-up was frustrating. A bit more transparency about menu changes or exclusions would go a long way, especially when a mistake is made. It’s unfortunate because the food is typically good, but this experience left me frustrated with the communication and handling of the issue. I hope they can improve how they address discrepancies like this in the future.

During my wife and my visit, we observed and unfortunately witnessed directly another customer fish out a live cockroach, I’m talking the size of a house cat, from the food that he had ordered. The young man who was working decided to‘ in response go to the back, kitchen grab a purple glove and grab it and take it out of the food personally .. what’s disgusting was that this man then handed the remains of the meal back to the customer.

I don’t need to tell anyone this is just disgusting. certainly unsanitary and definitely a health concern would not recommend .

Since I can’t respond to these folks calling my wife and I a liar I’ll respond here. In principle the customer is clearly wrong to whit petulance and insolence is clearly rampant here . Regardless of what your cameras indicate , as I indicated the staff member went to the back kitchen , and grabbed a purple glove to fish the cockroach that infested the meal out, only to return to the solution to frugally remove and give back to the unfortunate customer as per what I and my wife directly observed . I certainly have no incentive to misrepresent this event and neither does my wife, and I am sorry you feel that we are liars for no reason. I would implore along with swifter and more robust management , a more constructive approach. Thereby showing a solution to what’s being said; start with an exterminator - or perhaps he’s visited already. Again take from This what you feel. However, given the state of reviews to receive 1 star I can understand why you’d wanna preserve the little reputation built in such a short time span . This doesn’t negate the fact that it wasn’t my meal, not my serving - as I would ensure I had my money back and health Canada provided photos to investigate. Keep defending your staff , for the lack of wisdom speaks volumes particularly during rushed hours. Moreover L, Logically , since cameras face the customer they would be at the back of you . The fact that responsibility isn’t being taken and an argument is being shot back suggests the same understanding as to why a customer can also wait upwards to 45 mins for a poutine - ask yourself how long fries take to be deep fried ; does that make sense ?. Again, logically, your store is open late until wee hours of the morning cockroach’s are commonly known to be nocturnal so it’s not surprising. What’s more shocking is the flagrant disregard of what I saw happen as opposed to reception. Any one whose lived locally here can say: pizza pizza was also not successful And they took on a similar attitude and posture. What you fail to realize is not having control over your response will control you - calling me a liar and my wife? I don’t write the book on morality or commandments but to bare false witness or to lie seems to conflict with my values again I have no incentive. As a pillar in the community and religious individuals it’s insulting to be coined a liar my wife and I … sink to float or sink as Darwin says : natural selection — those who float don’t continue to make the same mistake. So continue the wonton disregard habibz …so very Sad and good...

Normally I love this place, but I ordered ~$50 worth of items from them on Doordash and the Gorilla Fries and shawarma Poutine were both half full and so light. The food looked like it was depressed inside the container because of being pressed down on, but it wasn't. It just had barely anything in it. The portioning in this place is always random, and while I love their food, it makes me feel like I'm wasting my time spending my money here.

Edit: I wrote this review and was asked to contact them as you can see below, but when I contacted them via email they didn't respond. I had a separate issue here too with Uber Eats having their chicken platter on a "limited time" deal that is supposed to be 2 for 1 for $19 and I only received one. I contacted Uber, who argued endlessly about it being my fault because apparently I didn't order 2 (which is supposed to be default when you click on a limited offer) but when I did set it to two the price changed to $38. What the real problem was, was that the deal was no longer active but the item representing the deal was still purchasable. Habibz Corner also contacted me about this issue when I reported it to both them and Uber, and lo and behold they also didn't respond to that either. Ended up just getting credits from Uber after arguing with them for a few days back and forth while they never fully acknowledged what the problem was. They just gave me credits...
