The service here was so bad that it was funny. From the beginning our waiter who met us at the door was dressed even more causal then us, we thought he was a customer. Then he led us to a table before changing his mind and bringing to another table where we sat. The table was kinda sticky but atleast it wasnt covered in crumbs. Then without giving us any menus about 2 minutes later he came asking for our orders. We havn't even been asked if we wanted something to drink. Upon noticing we had no menus he promptly took some from an empty table and gave us about another 2 minutes. Still no inquiry about drinks. About five minutes after placing our order he shouts from the counter asking if we want something to drink. We reply water, the water never comes. About 45min later our food arrives which is laughable timing at best since we and one other table was the only one occupied in the store. Both my friends got strip bacon and it was horribly overcooked, we also weren't given utensils originally. Our waiter corrected this problem grabbing a handful of utensils and handing it to us with one hand while using the other to talk to his buddy on his cell phone. Like lol who does that, how is this allowed. My friend near the end of the meal asked when the water was coming and our waiter finally brought 2 glasses... for three people. I guess this is what you get for coming to a breakfast place at 2:30pm on a Saturday. We're never...
Read moreMy second time making the drive from Toronto just to have brunch at this Sunset Grill, for the experience is compelling.
Let’s start with the restaurant, built to capture the Sunlight regardless of the season. So, a bright and warm place ambience.
The staff are cordial, and a table is just a few minutes away, even at the busiest of times. I was there at peak brunch time today, t’was packed, but staff took me to a table in short timeframe.
The coffee cup was filled while I was asked for my order. I asked for suggestions, and I was given an unbiased assessment. At least, I got that feeling. Important for me, rather than directing me to the most expensive item on the menu.
The food was brought quickly, advised of the condiments, and why they don’t add them in ahead of time. Coffee was refilled a couple of times.
While the kitchen is visible from the eating area, no smell, in fact, it was a pleasant site to see staff busy preparing meals and serving customers.
My vote for a lazy (any!!)...
Read moreMy experience at this place was highly disappointing. We arrived around 2 pm, only to find that they were out of stock on fruits and vegetables. With kids who love eating fruits, it was frustrating. We were willing to settle for veggies like cucumbers and tomatoes, but all they had were tomatoes. Worse, they only gave my son 2 slices of tomato. How embarrassing! There's a FreshCo right around the corner where they could have stocked up.
The most concerning part was the chef. He was chatting on the phone, touching his phone, earring, and face, and then handling our food without washing his hands. The transparent kitchen allowed us to see all of this. Despite considering leaving, we stayed because our baby had just fallen asleep and we were starving. However, we won't be returning. They were out of stock on everything we wanted, were incredibly cheap, yet charged us the regular price, and the chef’s lack of hygiene was...
