We arrived just after the rush but the restaurant was full (with covid rules respected). The only tables available were little round tables outside the window. We decided to order it as take out because we didn’t think we’d fit there well. After ordering we went outside to wait. A more comfy outdoor square table became available and so we thought we’d just eat in. As we sat there a man came to wait at the little round tables for his take out he ordered during the rush an hour previous. That wait made us nervous. As we sat it was chilly since it was the closest to the road and catching a breeze from the traffic going by. The man moved and we opted sluggishly to move there at the offer of the lovely hostess. After hearing of the gentleman’s wait I went in to see how long our order would be. I was surprised when she said about 3 minutes for our starters and they actually arrived just as she said. Not long after that she came to see if we wanted to move inside as a table had become available. I’ve never played musical chairs in a restaurant before like that especially in the middle of our starter. Here’s the thing though, they were really lovely about it and the food......was completely worth it. It was wonderfully spiced and cooked. The pakoras were the best I have ever had. We had butter chicken and chicken biryani as mains and the chicken literally melted in our mouths it was so tender. Garlic naan was also really nice (often when I get this it can be overly oily). I am an Indian food lover, have eaten in many Indian restaurants and this blew my mind it was so amazing. My partner shares my love of Indian so much that I was tempted to order some on our way home the following day just to bring to him! (Was on a girls trip). We had been really let down by our accommodations on this trip so it was literally the gem of our stay! Great service under high demand and the waits are worth it should you find yourself there during the rush. Only negative.....though she brought us all waters we had order one coke in our to go order that we had to remind our waitress about (seriously considering not a big deal). Will go every time I’m in Osoyoos, or...
Read moreBeen here twice, both times I was disappointed: Visit 1) On my first visit, a group of 6 of us went at all. Other than us, two other groups in the bar. Server was insanely slow. He had one table that was ordering, and it took him so long. Then went to cash out another table, and that took forever. Finally got around to us (after 15 minutes of being there), we ordered drinks. MY GOD THE WAIT, one extremely slow bartender making drinks. Bringing each drink out 1 at a time, very very slowly. Quite a bit later I wanted to order another drink, it took quite a while for the bartender to come around. We ordered more drinks, they also took a long time. We were there from about 10:45pm - 12, and we only had 2 drinks. We would have had more but service was so slow that we couldn't possibly order more.
Visit 2) Went with a medium sized group. As usual service was slow. One member from our group just walked up to the bar and got 2 buckets of Corona, just to save us some time. At one point I was trying to get the bartenders attention, I walked towards him as he was going to the back door. Still ignored me, as I got closer, to ask him a question, he rudely said "can you go over there" (as if I was in some danger zone), and waved for me to move back. When I did, I asked him for some limes (for our Corona), they had none. A bit later, I went up to order myself a drink. I ordered a Margarita, I paid. He ever so slowly made my drink. Then he puts up on the counter some RED drink. Im assuming a strawberry daiquiri??? At this point I didn't want to wait any longer so I just drank it.
For a business that is trying to strive as "the new bar in town", they're doing...
Read moreI have been trying to find some great Indian food and I was recommended this place to try when I was in the Osoyoos. This is such a gorgeous restaurant that is perfect for celebrating a special event or just for feelin' fancy! Both restaurant and lounge side are so gorgeous. Let me start by saying that the hospitality was top notch!
I enjoyed all the dishes we ordered; however, the prawn pakoras has got to be one of their top appetizers!!! My favorite dish at this restaurant has to be their Kadhai chicken and Fish curry, a solid 10/10. The curry was amazingly flavorful, and the spices they used to cook it was definitely on point. As to be expected, it is very strong on its own so make sure to buy some rice or naan to balance it out, but otherwise it is a for sure get and to not miss this. Don’t forget to order Dal Makhni!!!! It was more like a soft, consistent paste that has a creamy and smooth flavor. The richness of butter and relish the flavor of spices all at a same time.
And not to forget their sides, their samosa was honestly super tasty. I usually do not like the bland potato flavors that other places have, and this place really did not which I enjoyed. Their naan was soft and fluffy and tasted like traditional naan
Drinks: seasonal cocktails, wines, beer, non-alcoholic refreshers. I enjoyed my glass of Syrah. My other friend ordered a non-alcoholic refresher a mocktail essentially, which was refreshing without being overly sweet. We also ordered Mango Mojito and their very own drink THE FLAMEE!!!!
Overall, I definitely recommend this restaurant and I cannot wait to come back again and try their...
