I knew I had found the right place when I pulled into the parking lot Friday at 1pm and the line up was almost around the building. 50 TWO Sandwiches was worth the wait for sure. Luckily I tried it for the first time on a Friday so I ordered their pizza (only available Tuesdays & Fridays!)
I ordered Hawaiian, as it’s my kids favourite. I was asked if I wanted parmesan, chili flakes and garlic dip (all free!) - yes was my answer! It was wood fired style and so delicious. However with the bacon, ham, & pineapple the toppings seemed too heavy for the crust as it was folding over in my hand. I just folded it more and ate it all up, and so did my kid. Pizza gets a gold star. Try it out!
Sandwich I ordered was a Custom: Turkey, Candied Bacon, Hot Genoa Salami with Havarti Cheese. That candied bacon is something else, I loved it so much. Perfectly cooked and perfectly candied. The sandwich on the Italian Herb bun was so good, I saved half to bring home to my husband so he could see what he was missing.
Customer service was so friendly and helpful! Lots of cool drinks to purchase, chips, homemade cookies and butter tarts.
Only tip for improvement or newbies: once I made it inside the building, some people were skipping the outdoor line to go to the cash just for pizza orders. So I’m not sure if they need signage saying “pizza only, come inside to order ahead” as the lineup appears to be for the sandwiches, which you can also order your pizza at that window, but then you have to wait for your pizza to be cooked while your sandwich waits for you.
Either way I am going back to try all the pizzas and all the sandwiches, as I dreamt about...
Read moreI am delighted to leave a 5-star review for this local family owned artisan sandwich shop that truly exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, the aroma of freshly baked buns captivated my senses and I knew I was in for a treat. The quality of the sandwiches is nothing short of exceptional - each one bursting with the freshest and most flavorful ingredients, carefully sourced.
The buns, baked in-house, were absolutely divine and added a perfect touch to the already outstanding sandwiches. In fact, I must say that their buns alone are worth the trip to this fantastic shop. I also appreciated the friendly, hard working and knowledgeable staff who were more than happy to answer any questions and offer recommendations.
I must warn you though, these sandwiches are highly addictive! The combination of the homemade buns and locally sourced ingredients was simply sublime, and I can't wait to go back for more. I have no doubt that this shop is the best in class when it comes to artisan sandwiches, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly exceptional dining experience. Overall, a must-visit spot for any foodie looking to indulge in a smart and...
Read more50 Two Sandwiches is tucked away in a commercial plaza on Antares Drive in Nepean, and you probably wouldn't see it if you were driving by but you're bound to see the line out the door. We came by for lunch after coming across their page on Google Maps and were pleasantly satisfied by the food.
We got the Italian Hero ($10) on their homemade cheddar jalapeño bread with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, hot eggplant, sun-dried tomato mayo and Dijon mustard. That bread was awesome--airy, chewy and crispy. Thick layer of deli meat and the toppings were fresh and tasty.
We also got the Meatball Sandwich ($9) on Italian herb bread with onions, hot eggplant and parmesan. Plus, it came with 5 meatballs!! The meatballs are tender, seasoned well and the tomato sauce was also very balanced and tasty.
This is the simple but quality food that just hits home. It's hard to find $10 lunches anywhere nowadays, let alone in Ottawa so this was such a great find. You get plenty of quality food for the money. The space is clean and the staff are also...
