I rarely write reviews, but my experience here was so exceptional that I feel compelled to share it in full. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with warmth, professionalism, and a genuine sense of care that is so rare to come by these days. Every single interaction—from the front desk to the final moments of my visit—was thoughtfully handled and exceeded all expectations.

The atmosphere is inviting, clean, and incredibly well-organized. Mandarin Restaurants offer a great concept, and my family and I recently visited the Hunt Club location in Ottawa. While our experience was decent overall, I found that this location offers a more limited selection of food compared to other Mandarin Restaurants in the city, which is why I rated the food 4 stars.

The service, however, felt rushed—almost like a fast-food experience—despite the fact that we were dining at a restaurant where the average cost is around $70 per person, including food, drinks, and tip. Once we hit the two-hour mark, getting even a glass of water or additional assistance was impossible. It felt as though they were eager for customers to leave rather than allowing them to fully enjoy their meal.

On a positive note, the atmosphere was pleasant. I especially enjoyed the upbeat jazz playing in the background, which added a nice touch to the dining experience. However, the table setup felt a bit too tight, making it difficult to move around—particularly when the restaurant was crowded. Given that Mandarin is an all-you-can-eat buffet, diners frequently get up to grab more food, so a more spacious layout would enhance the comfort of the experience.

CUSTOMER SERVICE :

The customer service was EXCELLENT from our entry to our exit! We had a very warm welcome, we didn't wait that long either to get a table. All the staff was very well organised and friendly. Jing was our waitress and she was super professional and TOP NOTCH! ✨️🙌🏼

FOOD :

The restaurant + buffet section were very CLEAN and well maintained! My favorite dishes were (I tried a bit of everything because I always do this at my first visit) :

● Beef & Brocoli in Garlic (basically everything in garlic was succulent, i'm usually picky for brocolis but the one's at Mandarin mmm mmm mmm) 🤌🏼 ● Little Teriyaki balls with sesame seeds on top 👀 ● Sushisssssss (very fresh! The rice is soft) 🍣 + Varech noodles!!!!!! ● Sweet & Sour chicken bites ● Grilled Sausages.

DESSERTS :

● ✨️Crème Brulé✨️ ● Green sorbet (tastes so unique!) ● Strawberry Frozen Yogourt (the one you make in the frozen yogourt machine) I added whip cream and almond Sauce drizzle 😋 ● Rice Krispies (they were just so soft and mellowy) ● Square Brownies ● Both kinds of Strawberry cheesecakes were good (not excellent but very good).
