A&W Canada — Restaurant in Ottawa

Avoid if you have any allergies or sensitivities or you're vegan or want to be treated politely or fairly. After the cook had to take my order at the cash, I asked for no cheese, pickles or tomatoes. He then went back and on the grill i could see him peel the melted cheese off the burger and when asked for a new one they a) denied it even though I can clearly see the grill from the drive through and b) the guy had the audacity to wave the burger in the air at me like I was an idiot showing me there was no cheese and c) the other cashier who showed up afterwards was also rude and shoved the burger into my face and said no, this one has no cheese and closed the window.

So that burger got thrown out, not only that, but they even charged me for the cheese and the burger had tomato on it, which I asked for none of in the begining...

But if you really love A&W maybe try the A&W off of greenbank, literally 6 min away, close to the Sobeys, instead. Maybe they'd treat their customers a little better and have better food practices than this teenager on the grill that thinks peeling off the melted cheese...

This newly opened A&W has the newer design elements to it and the restaurant is very well kept. It's clean bright with plenty of accessible tables. The food is good and the staff where very helpful and even brought out our food for us. The new feature I think is very good is, they've consolidated the trash can areas into a single location and added 2 hand washing sinks with soap and paper towels. This makes it great for quick hand washing after your meals instead of having to go into the bathrooms. Very nice ammeinity. The biggest issue with this store is the atrocious parking situation! If you can find your way in for a spot close to the doors great but good luck finding your way out as the drive-thru design puts the entrance and exit right is absolutely the worst location. I witnessed 2 cars trying to leave the parking lot, and both went into the drive-thru lanes. Then had to backup. It's not ideal. Fix this and the experience at this store will be...

Forgot 3 hashbrown in my all Canadian breakfast and they ask the staff and If the forgot 3 hash browns and they say doubt it... so I guess I'm lying and sure I can drive back 20 min to eat my Hasbrowns will a freezing cold breakfast. I order this weekly and never had an issue. Only difference was I went to this location instead of any of my usual.

Doesn't take my name just tells me anytime I can come by and say they forgot 3 hasbrowns any day of the week. Clearly don't ask your staff if they are not prepared to take ownership of the mix up.. if one hashbrown was missing fine I wouldn't bother. But every all candian breakfast I order was missingnit so something happened and I wouldn't go out of my way to comment on this but why would I lie about missing 3 hasbrown.

You can keep your hasbrowns I'll be sure to avoid this...
