Super delicious hidden gem for some Of the best Mexican food in Ottawa. Super slept on I believe cause it’s a food truck but better then every chain “mexican food” and most of Mexican restaurants we have tried in Ottawa. Once enough people find out about this place you will either a)never be able to order from here again or b) they will have to upgrade from a food truck to a solid location.
We ordered mostly every taco except the vegan, including birria tacos, and some chips and guacamole. The guacamole was fantastic, perfect ratio of other items—Avacado, keeping it very simple yet delicious. Next came the Birria and beef taco After that the fish taco came out Then the pork or the el pastor type taco Then finished with the jerk chicken
Both me and my S.O had different rankings for all the tacos but every taco we would 100%order again. My rankings for the tacos are: 1-jerk chicken (he also had a extra spicy sauce if you so desire but it is the spiciest of all the tacos) I would honestly order a platter full of these again 2- birria taco— beef type filling with extra cheese what’s not to love 3- beef taco— just plain good 4-fish taco — the breading was super crispy it was almost like a Panko type crust. It was Atlantic cod but I’m not sure if he ever changes up the fish. Pork taco— it’s excellent with great ratio with all the ingredients. Still 10/10 taco just in a rankings list one of them has to go last.
Would 100 percent visit/order from again.

Read moreUPDATE! They are back open for another season, and their fish tacos are freaking amazing! Run, don't walk! I honestly wasn't too impressed with the tacos I had last time I was here , but this food truck is now under new ownership and a new chef, so I had to give it another chance. The menu is a lot simpler, and they are just selling tacos, churros, chips and gauc and some drinks.
The hubby and I both got a set of 4 tacos each and a side of churros. I ordered 3 fish and one vegan, but they packed in a beef one instead. I don't eat beef, so my loss, and hubbies gain. The hubby got a fish, jerk, beef, and pork. He loved them all, but was meh about the beef, as it was not as colorful looking as the rest. I thought all my fish tacos were fantastic. The tacos also came with lemon, and lime and a side of hot sauce, which was super flavorful and not too hot. I wanted to try the chips and gauc but they were sold out. Churros delish and I really enjoyed the chocolate sauce for dipping. It would be awesome if they had a caramel sauce as well. On that note, I could drink the chocolate sauce it comes with. Dang, it was good!
Opening up the new sleek black packaging made me extremely happy as well. The tacos were so bright and colorful. Seriously, go look at the pics I uploaded of the tacos...WOW! Everything was packed with so much care.
This would have been a solid 5 star for me, but again, they gave me a beef taco instead of the requested vegan...
Read moreI've visited Ay Dios Mío food truck on multiple occasions, and unfortunately, I've consistently experienced poor service from a specific staff member, a Caucasian male who takes orders. On my most recent visit, July 29, 2025, the situation escalated. I arrived at 11:40 AM to avoid the lunch rush and waited behind two other customers who were reviewing the menu. When it was my turn, I attempted to place an order for four birria tacos, but the staff member interrupted me, stating that I needed to wait a few minutes before he could take my order. Despite my polite response, the staff member continued to display a hostile demeanor, raising his voice when I asked if I could place my order after the previous customers had been served. Feeling disrespected, I decided to leave, as soon as I decided to leave the Caucasian male suddenly decided to take orders. What's concerning is that this staff member's behavior seemed to target me specifically, and as someone of Hispanic descent, I find it disappointing that a business serving Hispanic cuisine wouldn't prioritize treating all customers with respect and dignity. While I wouldn't label Ay Dios Mío as a whole as racist, I do believe that this staff member's behavior is unacceptable. I would advise others to be aware of this issue and consider whether they want to support a business with inconsistent...
