Our friends have been raving about Chili Thai. We phoned as soon as the restaurant opened at noon today to place an order for this evening and were told we couldn’t place an order in advance, that we had to phone back at 3:30pm. We were assured that if we phoned at that time that we’d be OK to place an order for this evening. We phoned numerous times at 3:30pm but the line was busy so my husband went in person and was received with rudeness by the lady in the restaurant. He said that when he walked into the restaurant she was visibly annoyed that a customer had shown up. She told him that if we placed an order right then that it wouldn’t be ready for hours and that customers placed orders days in advance because « her food is that good ». When he inquired how this was possible given that we’d been told pre-orders weren’t permitted earlier that day, she couldn’t provide him with an answer and dismissed him completely.
Chili Thaï: your food might be amazing but the horrid customer service you provided has left such a bad taste that we’d rather not support a business like this. I guess business is so good that you feel comfortable having ridiculous policies, only allowing select customers per-order, and treating new customers...

The food I got was beef and broccoli. It was okay, but it was not worth the 22 dollars it cost with tax and tip. The container was full of broccoli, carrots etc and what looked like a decent amount of beef. Upon eating you realize the beef is paper thin. Tiny little paper thin slices of beef. I heard other dishes are amazing and even award winning (as announced on their website) however I likely got roughly 100g of beef or less in an ocean of sauce and vegetables. I tip as a personal principle and im at fault for the increase in cost partially but I did not feel it was entirely worth it?
The service was outstanding. They don't have any physical menus so you check out their online menu but the lady at the cash was extremely helpful and friendly despite being very busy. She even made the effort to memorize my name when ordering and announcing the food is ready and everything else. I haven't had this level of service in a while and it was refreshing to get sit down service from a take out counter! A++
There is no atmosphere because this place is solely take-out. The front of house is roughly 100sqf (size of a small bedroom). Keep in mind this is...
Read moreThis is by far the best Thai food I have ever had. I have never been to Thailand, so I can't say I know what "authentic" Thai food is, but I imagine that this is very close. It is so good, in fact, that I have not been to Thai Express since ordering the food here (I know, comparing apples to oranges here). Thai Express is the "fast food" of Thai, and Chili Thai certainly puts it to shame, for around the same price for a plate of pad thai. A note about the spice level; for a white guy, I can tolerate spicy pretty good. In fact, I love hot food. They have 3 levels of spicy (mild, medium and hot, as you might guess). I ordered the green curry recently at medium heat, and I found it quite spicy, so next time I will opt for mild. The owners are super friendly and enthusiastic about food, and love to talk to you about it. They call by name when you come in too, which is nice. I suggest the Pad Thai (obviously), anything curry, pad see eww, and their summer rolls (rice paper rolls) are out of this world delicious. My wife and I are very happy they chose Orleans as a home for...
