On each and every visit I make to Ottawa, ensuring a stop at Choux Atelier on Queen Street has become an absolute ritual. Despite its consistent excellence, I am always somewhat surprised to find that it is not overwhelmingly busy, because in my opinion, this charming establishment is truly fantastic and deserves far more recognition. Their namesake, the choux pastry, is nothing short of incredible. Each bite offers a delicate, airy texture that melts in your mouth, often filled with delightful and subtly flavored creams that are clearly made with high-quality ingredients and expert skill. However, it is their pain au chocolat that truly elevates Choux Atelier to another level. Without any hesitation, I can confidently say that it is hands down the best pain au chocolat I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. And this is a statement that carries significant weight, as I am a resident of Montreal, a city renowned for its exceptional bakeries and patisseries. The perfect balance of a flaky, buttery croissant dough with rich, dark chocolate batons is executed flawlessly here, surpassing even some of Montreal's finest offerings. The experience at Choux Atelier is further enhanced by the consistently friendly and welcoming nature of their staff. They are always pleasant and seem genuinely passionate about the pastries they offer, adding a warm and inviting touch to the overall atmosphere. The only aspect of Choux Atelier that might give some pause is the price point. It is undeniably higher than any other boutique bakery I have encountered so far. While the exceptional quality of their offerings undoubtedly justifies the cost to a certain extent, it does position it at a premium end of the spectrum for those seeking artisanal baked goods. Nevertheless, for the unforgettable taste and overall delightful experience, the occasional indulgence at Choux Atelier is, in my opinion,...

One thing I did not like was that there was a house fly flying around and there were butter and chocolate croissants left in the open. I opted for their choux pastry as that was inside a glass box. The server mentioned matcha was a popular flavour so that's what I ordered with a black tea with milk. The matcha choux pastry was delicious. Not too sweet and had a nice flavour to it. The tea was so bad. It was so watered down, not hot and served in a paper cup with a lid that did nothing but make the beverage leak everywhere. I had to grab my order and walk and the whole way it leaked all over my hand. The paper cup also gave it that weird taste. I had to throw it out. If you stop here, stick to the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFinally was able to stop by Choux Atelier, which I've been dying to try as a lover of choux pastries! I indulged in the daily box and two premium choux (mango matcha and creme brulee). The premium ones were very fresh and delicious! I liked the cream cheese and viet coffee one. I don't know what happened but they did not give me what I had ordered, and I let them know, and they changed it. I left and checked the box and they messed it up the second time too... I don't know how hard it is to check what I ordered and for them to make a mistake twice is funny tbh. I'll be back again because it was good and I love pastries but hopefully they pay attention to the flavours that...
