COBS Bread — Restaurant in Ottawa

I generally buying COBS bread from store at Barhaven (Standherd Dr) or Orleans store. They never charge for bags when I buy 3 to 4 breads and bill is more than $25. They give white dinner roll as per quantity required. The store at Robertson road is different.I asked for three pieces of white dinner role. The employee said we sale in packet only. I said all COBS store gives quantity as required and then she agreed to give. I bought four different breads with a total of more then $25 and asked bag. I was told that $0.40 needs to be paid for bag. No COBS store charges for bags when customer buys so many breads. Not sure how they got twenty 5 star ratings, I'm a little suspicious to say the least. Today I tried the hot cross bun they're famous for and I thought it was only decent. The scones aren't sconey, they taste very good and there's lots of fruit chunks but if you close your eyes that could easily be a donut in your mouth. The scone texture you want just isn't there whatsoever, it's literally a baked donut. The ham and cheese croissant was so skimpy I'm not sure where they money went. This bakery has the best selection of breads, croissants, and desserts in town! I tried their cinnamon bun for the first time, it tasted like heaven. It had the perfect combination of sweetness and softness. Moreover, the staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They provided me with excellent service and ensured I had all the information I needed. An added bonus is that this location always has samples to try, and I love the fact that they donate their unsold baked goods to a local charity every night. I will definitely be coming back!
