My friends and I used to be loyal patrons of Coopers for more than a year until we were deliberately confronted one evening by the head chef (and more bizarrely supposed head of hospitality). The incident that evening was shocking and the person involved was unprofessional and cantankerous in the way in the way they treated us. Typically we would sit on the patio daily because we had a dog with us. We would enjoy the good food and the servers never had issues with us during that time. We had previously requested that the music be turned off because a friend had a sound sensitivity, which was always accommodated by the staff and also never caused an issue. When confronted by the head chef, we were asked to leave and were told this would be our last meal at Coopers. (Also, this was the first time anyone at our table had met this individual in person) According to this person, the reason was a server or server(s) were not comfortable serving us in particular, which was amusing considering we had been there daily for more than a year without issue. His behaviour was inhospitable, deliberately unprofessional and unacceptable. No restaurant guest should be subjected to this kind of behaviour...

When you have a restaurant attached to a hotel in the core of downtown, you expect it to be pricey. Very pricey.

But we were in for a surprise. We were in Ottawa to drop our daughter off to University. Tired from a long drive from Mississauga and loading and unloading, we wanted to a quiet dinner, some good beer before our sleep

Coopers has a great patio which was full. Forcing us to take a table indoors. And we were glad, for minutes later we had a huge downpour that had all the patio patrons scurrying in.

There was only one server catering to the entire restaurant so the wait was a bit. The menu was limited but with some good choices. The prices were not as outrageous as we had imagined it would be.

Despite a single server he did a great job in attending to everyone. The beer on tap was a tad limited.

But when the beer and food came, it was good. Decent portion sizes, good taste to tickle your buds and a good ambience to eat in.

All in all it was a memorable dinner and we will definitely go here again at one of our...

We visited the restaurant on a Friday evening. It was a bit wet outside, and we were seated inside, although we would have preferred sitting outside. The service was prompt, but cannot say I enjoyed out stay. The fish and chips were good, a bit too battery and the fries were over cooked but acceptable. We also ordered chicken wings. The wings came with one type of sauce. I don't think the waiter asked us which sauce we wanted, so they just put "some buffalo" on it. His words. For 17$ the wings did not include fries. They were small and way over cooked. We also tried a pasta dish, which was clearly microwaved topped with a ton of cheese. It was unetable. Waiter looked annoyed with our questions, and was very direct, and cut us short a few times. We stayed at the hotel above it, so it was convenient but would definately not return. The patio looked...

This was a great little find. It is very small and just a few staff but luckily our 2 visits were all at quiet times. The staff were professional. The girl who served us dinner was really sweet and friendly. The menu is limited but in addition to regular pub fare there were A FEW SURPRISING CREATIVE DISHES as well. The Mac and Cheese had such flair... Made witha delicious mix of sharp cheddar, broccoli and mushrooms, and topped with crispy corn flakes and a dollop of this amazing green tomato jam which tied it all together with a sweet and savory party in my mouth! The French toast, I remembered to snap pics of. HANDS DOWN THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD. See the pics for the description on the menu. If you are a foodie, you will love this place. Prices reasonable for the quality of the food.

We had the pleasure of dining at COOPERS, located inside the Embassy Hotel many times and it never disappointed! The service was always accommodating, the food was VERY FLAVOURFUL , fresh and for the prices in and around downtown Ottawa- we think it’s a really great deal. Exceptional service, especially to Audrey, who we encountered a bit more than others. All the staff are friendly . Seriously the food here was tremendous!! We had breakfast, brunch ( exceptional!), chilaquiles wrap, wings ( sooo good with a kimchi slaw), Brussels sprout appetizer with cashews, steak, soup and sandwich specials, French onion soup ( a bit small portion for the price but loaded with everything you’d want in this ). The chefs really take pride in what they create and plate them attractively!

A last minute decision to ditch our original breakfast place for Cooper’s turned out to be a good one. We were looking for parking because all the spots were taken near the breakfast restaurant my husband and I wanted to go. In our search we ended up at a parking right across from Cooper’s (and several minutes walk to our intended place —- on a chilly and windy morning, no less). We noticed several tables were occupied inside Cooper’s, and it looks inviting. So we thought, “why not?” In we went and glad we did. Food and service are amazing. We’re definitely going back.
