Egg Roll Plus — Restaurant in Ottawa

My mother really enjoys the egg rolls , they are alright. We thought we would try the crispy beef despite it costing $17! for one order of crispy beef is a pretty hefty price tag. It was really good however two minutes after we ate the several small pieces of beef we were left with what seemed to be a full onion and half a carrot. When I mentally weigh the amount of product received for the amount of money given I was very disheartened. I called back an they offered to a give us a an extra half order of crispy beef next time we order a crispy beef... so basically come give another $17 for even with 50% more meat (if hypothetically they left the veggies out of this half order) still would not amount to a regular order from most other establishments. He asked if I was OK with this and I said I guess.. It seems they really want to save money with no concern of losing returning regular customers. I'm sorry but I wont be ordering here again, and we get egg rolls there about twice a month.

This is by far, the best "Chinese" food in Ottawa The portions are generous, and the food is always fresh and delicious. We have been ordering from here for well over ten years and now our new Canadians in our family have been introduced to this amazing place and they are so happy. We keep ordering even though we have moved and do not live close by anymore. We cannot help but keep coming back, and we are never disappointed. The beef and veg is exquisite and the vermicelli has the exact amount of curry and spice. The Gai Din is awesome, and the meat, along with mixed vegetables, stir-fried is so incredible . All of our family are completely in love with the almond cookies as well.. They are outstanding, so warm and freshly baked there. They crumble in our mouths, totally addictive. My experience was very disappointing. The egg foo young did not come with gravy, though the menu said it does. General Chow Chicken was extremely bland and not as described on the menu. 1st General Chow I've ever had in 40 years that incorporates mushrooms. The menu did not indicate this.! Honey garlic Spareribs also very diappointing. Menu saids 1lb of lean ribs melt in your mouth tender in a special sauce. I did not receive 1 lb. They were certainly not melt in you mouth tender, in fact they were full of gristle and over cooked, oh, and the special sauce was ordinary. Egg rolls were great and the Cantonese noodles with shrimp was okay but nothing special. I feel my 108.00 could have been spent somewhere else where I could get honest value.
