I used to drive to Almonte to buy locally roasted fresh coffee beans from Equator, roasted on the same day or two days max! I was happy that they opened nearby; but the coffee beans they bring in this location is not as fresh, 2-6 weeks; in fact for a speciality coffee with this price point, this is very old. The beans will lose most of the flavor! The atmosphere is great; but staff changes a lot, some are friendlier than others. I don’t like being asked for a tip on a drive through, not everyone does it though! Coffee is very good; food items are ok, not usually fresh! If you’re more into coffee like myself, this is a great spot, but if you’re a foodie person, I’d recommend another destination.

R Really impressed with the new Equator Coffee inside Indigo in Kanata. The space has a cozy, minimalist vibe with clean white and green tones—feels fresh and calm, perfect for a quiet coffee break or reading session. Tried their pancake and it was surprisingly good! The coffee was solid too, and the prices are pretty much in line with other local spots—nothing too steep. Staff was friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall good experience. Only reason for not giving a full 5 stars is that it’s still finding its groove since it’s a newer spot, but it’s definitely a great addition to the area. Worth checking out if you’re browsing Indigo!

Coffee is good but small portion and service with a posh attitude Tried their drive through for the first time, and ordered a flat white. Turned out that it’s only about 2 fl. Oz, so half a small cup, see photos. The cup is slightly taller than a credit card, and it was only half full. When I inquired about the portion size, the response was: “We brew our coffee the traditional way, if you want to get large and diluted, we’ll…” Ok enough with that attitude. Coffee was delicious, but not warm enough for my taste.

I got a veggie sandwich and the hibiscus cardamom iced tea. The sandwich sits in a glass case which I knew had been sitting for a bit but the ends of the bread were hard as rock and everytime I took a bite because the veggies in the sanwhich were tough, the whole sandwich kept coming apart and I had to keep putting it back together for each bite. For a $20 dollar sandwich, i dont want to play with my food and the sandwich should be made to order at that cost. But what really disappointed me was the hibiscus cardamom ice tea. I feel like the cafe jumped on a bandwagon of a tea they have no idea how to make, let alone serve. This tea is native to Africa, the Caribbean, South East Asia ect and none of the recipes for tea are made without sugar. The reason being is hibiscus is an acidity plant and the sugar cuts that acid. I was served an extremely ignorant insulting drink today, that would have POC laughing all the way back to their country. I've been drinking hibiscus teas and juices for over 30 years and I couldn't even believe the ignorance that I was sold today. The staff was friendly, the tables were dirty and I had to clean my own table off of the crumbs from the last patrons, kinda gross. Over all not a horrible expierence but from the ignorance of the tea, I will not be returning. Do better when your taking from other countries, to make money off of their...

I love equator as a coffee shop where the coffee is usually excellent and the service is very good. However, on September 13th, 2025, while driving from Nepean to the specific location in Kanata, I found that it’s not worth the driving. It was busy, busier than usual comparatively to other times I drove there and the service was less than satisfactory. I didn’t get all I asked for and paid for so I needed to ask again. When the coffee was brought to me it was in a disposable cup although it was plenty of room where I sat and I expected a real cup. The person who brought the coffee to my table was holding the cup by the side where I was supposed to touch with my mouth, and here we go, they made a customer unhappy. I will probably use the other 2 locations, in Barrhaven and the second close to Richmond although the 2nd one doesn’t have good parking around. Thank you...

I quite like this coffee shop as my family and friends always come here but this time I was surprised by the service (and not in a good way). The guy who took my order seemed to have an attitude, which was quite disappointing as I was very friendly and the staff is usually nice. However, he ruined my whole mood. I didnt get his name but he was a white man with glasses, tall, and had red ish hair. He talked to me in a very condescending tone when I asked for the Korean drink that I had last time but didnt know the name of (Dalgonae) and he replied very rudely. He then scoffed at me as he walked by. Very disappointing as the girls staff are very very kind but he had to ruin the service experience for me. Hope he sees this review and reflects on his customer service. If you’re tired of serving people,...
