I guess the people giving all these 5 star reviews are not Jamaicans, or them live a farin long time and figet what real yard food taste like 🤔. Becaauussseeee. (in Julie Mango voice), only the jerk chicken mek it to the 3 stars. And I couldn't even bite into my bone because it had too much pink and like most Jamaicans I like my food well done. Couldn't even chew the cartilage cause that wasn't well done either. The fried chicken was so dry, we threw out the leg because it was tough like donkey corn. Festival must taste like festival man, not fry dumpling, I like my festival with more cornmeal. And the coleslaw, jan know star how can you mess up cabbage? And to make matters worse, they forgot to give me the 2 servings of plaintains that I paid extra for. If I didn't live so far I'd go back for them. The gizzarda and coconut bun was too salty for me, would probably try the gizzarda again but not the coconut bun. Nah write off this restaurant just yet though, I'm going to try them again. If it's better next time around my review will change. If not then this...
Read more10/10 flavor 0/10 meat portions and coleslaw on 1/4 leg jerk chicken meal 21$
Now I understand that coleslaw recipes vary from spot to spot. But this one is very bland. But if u like it that's ok.
The rice, jerk chicken, and plantain flavor and cooking was perfect. Thus why I gave 3 stars.
The issue is portion. 1 u get these cut up pieces of chicken which are literally 80% bone and cartilage.
Considering this costs around 21 ish dollars for rice and some bone (the plantain is extra 2$ but worth it).
For this reason alone will never come back. And honestly if ur willing to pay 21$ for rice and bone and cartilage that has good flavor. Go for it. The coleslaw is lettuce and corn and i forget what else.
Now u may say but other menu items are better portioned. Well jerk chicken is the staple dish, and if that's not portioned well i won't try anything else.
Give people the entire chicken leg uncut. Or lower the price
And check the costco business centre, or find new meat vendors to bring...
