What a spectacular gem situated in the Gleeb since 1985 in a historic building on Bank St. This dynamic hotspot showcases an diverse selection of live music 2-3 times a week. Alongside a thoughtful menu that delivered beautifully prepared meals (I witnessed a packed dining room), the scotch is top shelf as is the scotch menu for your contintued education. Suprisingly the elixir of the finest swiss coffee machines and coffee in the world are presented to the lucky patrons of the pub. What more would you want in a pub? Oh yes, Irene's Pub shares the building with a barber shop, a cereal bar and several other professional offices. Enjoy my friends, as we certainly did and plan to return as soon as we have the pleasure of returning to Ottawa.

It was my first time here. I asked the waiter... wish I knew his name... what vegan options they offer. He was very helpful and informative with his suggestions. When I decided on a meal that included naan bread, he came back to my table and advised me that the kitchen told him there was butter in it and offered to substitute it with their breakfast bread. I was very impressed at the waiter for following up with the kitchen staff, and the kitchen staff for being aware of the dietary requirements of a vegan. And a julienne salad was a nice change from a regular iceberg house salad. I will be returning! Unfortunately I missed the entertainment, but next time I would love to stay longer.

Traditional bar with fun atmosphere, live music, great food and an awesome hidden outdoor back patio! Brisket sandwich - (4.4/5) Sandwich was HUGE, smoked in house and had good flavor. Paired amazing with one of the local ottawa hot sauces they have at the tables. Grilled cheese - (4.5/5) Good sizes portion, great tasting bread and cheese. *May 2024 update* Big Smoke Burger (4.9/5) -super smokey flavor reminiscent of brisket since the mushrooms are smoked in house and take on a ton of flavor -huge burger patty -lots of brie which did not compete against the delicious smokey flavor

Here is why I give them 1 star. I have been here several times for live music and gets there early to get front seats so that I can see the band play up close with no distractions right? WRONG!!! Once music starts the people seating behind moves and stand (Not dance, but stand and watch the show as you can see in the photos attached) right in front of the stage, blocking the view of everyone seating on chairs. Now if this happened once I would say that's alright. But it has happened every single time I have been there to watch a show. How can this be fair. The owners for some reason don't see anything wrong. My guess is they are actually happy to have as many people up there. (Many people more money) I find this to be unacceptable. They should control this and make sure those who wanna go to dance should do so and return to their seats after their favorite song is done. Instead receiving money from many people when they know there is no enough space is uncalled for. Now since I noticed they don't answer comments here, I will post this in every platform hoping someone will see this and make...

A woman came to my door claiming she was collecting donations for this restaurant’s anniversary. I declined politely, and instead of handling it with professionalism, she turned bitter and snapped “cheap” at me. That was shocking, rude, and absolutely unprofessional.

I have no issue with restaurants celebrating milestones or even fundraising, but insulting people for saying no takes it to another level. If this is how they choose to represent themselves in the community, If this person truly represents the restaurant, it speaks volumes about how they value the community and potential customers.

Instead of celebrating an anniversary with gratitude toward customers, they’ve sent someone around to guilt-trip strangers and hurl insults. This left me with such a negative impression that I have no interest in...
