Jasmin Restaurant — Restaurant in Ottawa

I went there for lunch last week with some work colleagues. We were one of only two tables, yet we had to wait over an hour for our food (we all got sandwiches, nothing exotic). We made the mistake of ordering our mains after appetizers, which didn't help, so we ended up being there for 2 hours. Staff were loudly dragging tables around for the last hour we were there which was extremely disruptive and unpleasant (think the sound of nails on a chalkboard, repeatedly).

It appears they're either currently renovating or they've left it half-renovated as the place appeared to be half-finished. Our server was busy most of the time helping to install pot lights, so we had to constantly flag him down.

A door was left open the entire time we were there, so it was freezing cold. The music was absurdly loud so we had to ask them to turn it down so we could actually hear each other talk.

Food was served with paper plates, cutlery was disposal, and a box of kleenex was on the table for napkins... Perhaps this is somehow seen as authentic, but it was not the experience I was looking for, nor anything I've experienced at other middle eastern restaurants.

The food itself wasn't bad; however, the menu listed "sandwiches", but in fact they're more like wraps, definitely not a typical sandwich. I got a chicken shawarma "sandwich" with fries and a soft drink which somehow cost me $27, but I couldn't be bothered to argue as we'd already been there twice as long as expected so I just wanted to get out of there.

I recently visited jasmin restaurant that had delicious food options. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, with comfortable seating and a relaxed atmosphere. What truly stood out to me, however, was the exceptional service provided by our waiter, John Jack.

From the moment we were seated, John Jack was attentive and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. He took the time to explain the menu to us and recommended some of his personal favorites. His knowledge of the dishes and his friendly demeanor made the dining experience even more enjoyable.

The food itself was outstanding. We ordered a variety of dishes, from traditional Middle Eastern mezzes to juicy kebabs, and each dish was flavorful and expertly prepared. The portion sizes were generous, and everything was served hot.
