This was my first time trying ten toes and I was decently disappointed. When you walk in the environment is actually quite nice with intricate seating arrangements. This was really the only thing I enjoyed about the place. When we went to sit down the chairs were dirty with food crumbs all over them. No big deal I just swiped em off and we good to go. When we started to order the barista's definitely had the vibe that they didn't want to be there. One is leaning, the other doesn't say hello and waits for order. No real happiness when we were ordering. Just kind of unpleasant. We ordered 2 pastries and a matcha latte. We asked if they were made in house and was told that they were. They brought the pastries over and then brought the matcha. I tried both the pastries, they weren't horrible but they tasted and looked like Costco pastries warmed up(this is not a claim they were store bought, just an observation). They spilt the matcha everywhere which I wouldn't have cared about if they didn't get it all over the table where our books and laptops were. I thought they would have at the bare minimum grabbed a napkin. But no. I went over and grabbed some myself. At this point im not even that disappointed. I'm thinking maybe they just having a day. It's when I overheard them talking. "You made that so thick" which kind of a chuckle in their voice. Which my girlfriend then went to try the matcha and it was absolutely disgusting. I drink a green powder every morning and it had the consistency of a unstirred greens powder. Thick, chalky, grainy. The amount of effort that went into that equaled zero. The barista's then proceeded to sit down when no more people were ordering. Which I have no beef with, take a break when you need it. But If most of the furniture is covered in food crumbs and floor and table in matcha I don't know if that's the best time. Also no music there at all which kinda killed the vibe of the place and made it super easy to hear everyone. So I'll go give ya a quick rating to help with this.
Ambiance 7/10(cool place) Customer service 2/10(worst i've had in a while) Cleanliness 5/10 (not everything was dirty) Quality 4/10(nothing I ingested was good) Overall 4.5/10
Advice -get people that want to work in your establishments. -create less menu items and perfect your recipes. -help create a better vibe (i.e. cleanliness, music, better customer service)
P.s. I'm going to try out your other locations to compare and see if this is an ongoing...
Read moreAn adorable little cafe along Cyrville Rd. Very warm and cozy and lots of places to sit, whether you like cushy chairs or bar stools. Plants everywhere, cute little bookshelves, and a warm electric fireplace set the atmosphere. They also have a patio with lots of seating, and outlets aplenty.
The food is delicious and the portions are huge. The coffee is great, served in real mugs instead of paper. They also have a selection of brand sodas and snacks, as well as a shelf of wine bottles for purchase. The only regret I have is that they were out of hot chocolate when I went.
You can tell the staff enjoys working there. They were cheery, polite, and very patient while I hemmed and hawwed over the menu. The owner can often be found in the dining room, working at a writer's desk or helping out the staff.
Lots of parking space at no charge. I was there pretty much all day, although I made sure to buy something every couple hours. Got decently busy, but I'm not sure if anyone had to be turned away due to lack of seating. A comfortable amount of social distancing for such a small space.
This one is going into my favorites, and I hope to see more of it while I...
Read moreI am writing this review to directly address the owners of this location, due to the poor working conditions to which they subject their staff during the summer heat waves. The past two times I have gone into this location it has been 34 degrees Celsius inside, this was confirmed by looking at the thermostat on the wall. The only means to cool the barista was a cheap small fan that gave off very little airflow. The staff and service have always been wonderful at this location, and I previously used to sit and enjoy my food or drink, however it is far too hot to continue to do so. With that in mind, how do you expect your staff to work in an environment that is this hot when customers won't even stay for 10 minutes? Per the Ontario Occupational and Safety Act you have a duty to "take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of a worker. This includes developing hot and cold environment policies and procedures to protect workers in hot and cold environments." I can safely say from the outside looking in, you are not even making an attempt. You have three locations in the city now and I am confident you...
