One of the best falafel and humus in town! This authentic little gem offers beautiful Jordanian style falafel in classic, stuffed with cheese, and spicy options. We heard so much about this place we went as they were opening their doors this morning, literally.
Crunching into a classic falafel has that satisfaction that comes from a perfectly crispy outer shell with the promise of that fluffy, herbaceous, perfectly seasoned ground chick pea interior. They feature a house made refreshing lemon, garlic and parsley/mint sauce, a mild spicy pickled chili sauce, and tahini to accompany their falafel. The humus has body, balanced and velvety. Void of any grittiness, they explained they soak the chickpeas overnight, then remove the skins before processing, a step most places cut but instead go straight to grind after the soaking. I would almost describe their humus like ice cream when felt on the roof of my mouth because its that creamy without it being too loose at all. Just a beautiful consistency.
I also ordered the humus with meat, crispy ground beef with almonds with a garnish of olive oil, and some fresh pita. Delish! I would highly recommend this place and encourage you to try it.
Great prices! Deliciously fresh and authentic! Sweet and...
Read moreHello, I'm not a person who writes reviews whether good or bad, but this time I had to. Following a facebook group recommendation, I went to Ottawa falafel house to try the best falafel in town. First, I was disappointed of how small the place was, definitely for take outs only, and not checking proof of vaccination also got me worried. I tried the falafel sandwish with Arabic bread (tomatoes, cucumber, reddish, hummus, tahini, pickles), it was good indeed. The owners are nice people, they even offered us free tea as the service was very very slow. But the next day, I regretted going there, I spent the whole day vomiting, every 30 min from 8 am to 3 pm. At 3 pm I decided to go to the emergency as it became unbearable and I was dehydrated. Spending 7 hours at the hospital, having to do all those tests is no fun. The diagnosis confirmed gastroenteritis and I'm still recovering from it. Please everyone, be mindful of the hygiene of where you eat and the freshness of the food. Unfortunately I ignored...
Read moreEdited From 2 star to 4 star. I have tried again the restaurant twice after last review but only for take out. I insisted to try their flafel sandwiches. Finally got the chance to try their authentic flafel sandwich, the taste took me 25 years back and reminded me when I was a kid, buying flafel sandwiches on my way to school.
I will do another review once I tried them more. Consistency is very important to me.
The food is really good and people are very kind. A bet overpriced for Fattah and humus. The owners need to take immediate actions to keep the place clean. The place is small and there are only 2 tables. The tables and chairs are so old comparing to the age of the restaurant (only one month). The Owners need to pay more attention on how they manage the supplies, unfortunately we ended up ordering different things than what we originally came for (Note: we drove all the way from Barrhaven) will not return if the above mentioned points...
