La Noodle Clyde Ave 宝升福 — Restaurant in Ottawa

We got the Pad Thai as there was a delivery deal on it and we were pretty let down. The noodles had very good texture, no problem there, however the taste was very sweet. The only flavour was sweet almost candy like sweetness and I'm not used to Pad Thai tasting quite like that. We got chicken in one and beef in the other, the chicken was perfectly fine but the beef tasted off. I don't want to say it was expired but it unfortunately had a bit of a fishy/sour taste to it. If you do order from here try this avoid the beef.

We also bought spring rolls, for 6$ they were pretty disappointing. It comes with 3 micro Springrolls that are clearly mass produced that they get from Sysco or something, then toss in the fryer. My advice is to avoid these too.

All in all, it's not the worst restaurant I've ordered from but I do think there's a reason for the low score on Google and that's just because it isn't very good. Maybe they have speciality items that are worth the trip but what we got...

Walked in get one order of dandan noodles about 1 hour before closing. There were no customers but three or four tables had dirty dishes and leftover food on them, waiting to be cleared. A man was sitting behind the counter and popped his head up as I approached. I asked for my order and he told me that it would be 15 minutes. They don't take credit or debit, you have to pay cash or e-transfer. The man charged me $17+tax instead of the $15+tax shown on their own website and he told me he gave me a "large order" which is why it was more expensive. Unfortunately, my review wont be super reliable as I didn't even get to order any food before I decided to leave the restaurant. I really wanted to like this place as the menu had a great variety of interesting dishes, but too many things made me decide to leave before even ordering. I am not sure if it was a customer or a owner just sitting in the dining room, but that lady was staring at me in a very hostile manner, making it quite awkward when you are the only other customer in a small dining room.
