I had the pleasure of visiting Local Heroes in early August (a bit late on my review!), and my experience was made truly memorable thanks to two incredible servers, Kayleigh and Julia. From the moment I sat down, Kayleigh set the tone with her warm personality and attentive service. She made me feel welcome right away, walking me through the menu with genuine enthusiasm. I ended up ordering the buffalo chicken nachos on her recommendation, and they were absolutely fantastic… flavourful, perfectly layered, and just the right amount of spice. Kayleigh checked in at all the right times, striking that perfect balance of being attentive without ever feeling overbearing.
Later in the evening, I was switched over to Julia’s section, and she carried the experience seamlessly. What stood out about Julia was not only her professionalism but also her genuine hospitality. She has this effortless way of making guests feel like they’re not just customers, but friends. She went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed and created such a welcoming, upbeat atmosphere that I ended up staying far longer than I had originally planned. What could have been just a quick meal turned into an evening I’ll genuinely remember, simply because of how great she made me feel as a guest.
It’s rare to come across a team where both servers leave such a lasting impression, but Kayleigh and Julia truly embody what makes Local Heroes such a great spot. They’re attentive, personable, and clearly care about creating a positive experience for everyone who walks through the door. Between the delicious food and the outstanding service, I left not only full but also genuinely impressed.
I can’t say enough about how wonderful Kayleigh and Julia were… they’re a huge part of why I’ll definitely be coming back to...
Read moreProbably the worst customer service experience I’ve had to date. I never write google reviews this is the second review I’ve written in my life. Takes a lot for me to rate somewhere bad as I work in customer service myself. We went yesterday for st Patrick’s day & this was most poorly managed place I’ve seen by far. No management what so ever. We arrive & 5-6 servers walk by a group of four of us. In a matter of 15 minutes, not ONE server acknowledges our presence, no hostess did is there was one. After having three groups of people sit down before us, that arrived after.. I spoke to a waitress at the POS system. She looked at me and immediately told me to “knock off my attitude and to not be rude, that she was extremely busy. I understand it’s a busy night, but from the moment I walked in everything couldn’t of been more disorganized. This is a customer service business.. not one greeting, nobody asked us if we wanted to be seated. After 15 minutes of waiting we finally asked a second server.. he sits us and 30 minutes later another server takes our drink order. She was truly a good server who was overworked & I admire her patience and strong work ethic. However, the other server must be called out for her inappropriate behaviour.. as my tone was calm, and simply was asking why people were being sat before us, or If they were planning on taking more people. There are wait times & hostess & managers for a reason, for a restaurant to operate properly. I’ve worked in the restaurant business & truthfully can say this was the worst experience I’ve had to date. Super...
Read moreI don't even know where to start. The service was horrible from the minute I arrived. The waitress just walked right by my friend and I after we were seated, second time around we had to flag her down to ask for food and drinks because she kept skipping our table. The 1 star is for whoever made the sangaria. We ordered the combination platter for $22 and everything was edible to say the least except for the chicken. The chicken was not cooked and pink on the inside. We mentioned it to the waitress, asked for napkins as she did not provide them with the food. She proceeds to grab the entire platter, puts it back on our table and tells us shes going to get the manager. We waited and waited and finally she came back (still no napkins) and told us they would just deduct the chicken off of our bill. We said "ok fine" then she went off to serve other people. They didn't even offer to replace them. I WAS STILL SO HUNGRY I would have happily paid for the food if it was cooked properly. Eventually we made eye contact with her as she was walking by after sitting there for a while with empty drinks and she stopped suddenly and said "so how is everything". At that point we just wanted to leave so we asked for the bill and she went off to get the bill. THEN CAME BACK... Asked us if we ate the chicken or if it was still in the box! Then asked us if she could take the box back to the kitchen to check! Then came back out with the bill. I go out for food and drinks often and this was by far the worst service ever. I honestly had to laugh when I walked away because I didn't know...
