My wife and I have been regular customers of Lorenzo's pizza for some time now, sometimes ordering once or twice per week. While my wife was dairy free we even brought in vegan cheese that they used to make the pizza for us. They have been very fair in this regard. Today, my wife ordered a pizza for delivery and when the pizza arrived, the pizza and toppings were squished to one corner of the box. After I called the store myself, the man on the phone said he would send a new pizza. I offered to send him a picture but he declined, saying to show the delivery man the pizza. A short time later, the buzzer rang and I ran down the stairs to greet the delivery man. Hes an older man and my worry about the first pizza was that perhaps trying to carry the pizza up five flights of stairs is how the first pizza got messed up. If I open the front door for him instead of buzzing, he wouldn't have to carry the new pizza. I explained to him that my wife wasn't happy with the condition of the last delivery. He stated that the delivery is the same every time, showing me the pizza in the box, and left saying that its not his fault. Once I arrived back upstairs and checked my cellphone, I saw 5 missed calls on my phone from the store. I called back immediately hoping to inform them that the new pizza was perfect and that there were no problems. Instead, the man on the phone was rude and never let me get a word in or explain the situation. He told me that the pizza delivery man said I had refused to let him see the pizza and that I had thrown it into the garbage. This was a flat out lie because the pizza was still sitting on my counter, untouched since its delivery and I never declined to let him see it. And thats when I heard it. The last time my wife and I were eating in the restaurant we heard an unhappy customer on the phone being told almost the exact same things I was being told on the phone. The man on the phone proceeded to tell me that the situation was suspicious and "I fire people over this" and stated that he doesn't trust me. Apparently I was supposed to show the delivery man his mistake, even though he never bothered to ask about it and he left in haste. Thats when my wife and I realised that we've heard it all before from the same man on the phone about the exact same delivery person in a very similar scenario. In Lorenzo's world, unhappy customers are suspicious liers and I'm going to assume that he's never fired a single delivery person over a call from an unhappy recipient of his pizzas even though thats what he tell his unhappy customers. Without letting me explain or say anything at all, he hung up the phone on me. This is where my wife and I draw the line. If you're going to call your customers liers, yell at them on the phone with a script you've written to blow them off, we're going to write a bad review and we're going to find a new pizza place. So here's a photo of the first pizza, untouched and not in the garbage, squished into a corner of the box. I'm also going to note that you can see its burnt on one side so maybe they just suck at making pizza. Any review that says the delivery man is a lier is 100% accurate and I doubt anyone is trying to scam Lorenzo's.

What happened?!? Lorenzo’s has been my go to place since I moved to the area 5 years ago. I’ve tried pretty much all the pizza joints within a 5km radius of my place. Some were good and others, not so much. Lorenzo’s was hands down the best in the area except maybe for Tangerine on Cummings where the pizza is AMAZING, but oh sooo expensive. I hadn’t ordered pizza for a while, so I decided to do that today. I ordered my usual medium Lorenzo’s Special (mushrooms, olives, green peppers, onions, tomatoes, and bacon), with extra cheese. I was sure the Lorenzo’s Special had pepperoni on it as well, but apparently not. A special with no pepperoni? Since when? I’ve been ordering the same pizza for 5 years, and I only now noticed there’s no pepperoni on it? Strange. Pepperoni aside, to say that I was disappointed is an understatement. The crust was chewy and a little underbaked, and the top was overbaked and too brown. I expect some browning, but not so much that it turns the cheese into hard rubber. How does that even happen? The green peppers were sliced so thinly that they just about dissolved as soon as I took a bite, the tomatoes were non-existent and I don’t recall even tasting any olives. And if that wasn’t bad enough, the cheese…the cheese. I ordered extra cheese and what I got looked like less than regular cheese. I have never gotten a pizza from Lorenzo’s or any place else in the area that was as thin as this one. A chef’s special with extra cheese should NOT be barely 1cm thick. But this one WAS. I gave Lorenzo’s another chance last year when my pizza arrived all bent out of shape and stuck to the top of the box. I blame the delivery driver for that and it never happened again, so I kept ordering from them. Today was the last time. Never again. Before tax and tip, I paid $38 for a medium pizza, which is already a lot to begin with. With tax and tip, that pizza cost me almost $50. What I got wasn’t worth half that. I don’t do pizza chains because what they sell isn’t pizza, it’s sauce and cheese on cardboard. But after today’s experience with Lorenzo’s, I think I could have gotten a better pizza at Little Caesars or Papa John’s. I don’t know if they hired a new cook or if the place is under new management but quite frankly, I don’t care. I’m not taking another chance. I’ll be ordering my pizza elsewhere from now on. And that’s too bad…because when you lose one longtime customer who recommends your place to everyone who asks, you lose a lot more. Do better, Lorenzo’s.

The pizza used to be good and I have ordered from here way more often then I should. Something happened over the years. The crust is kind of chewy and kind of reminds me of the pizza crust disks you buy frozen in the grocery store and the cheese quality has plummeted. You can get better for half the price at one of the big chains. The price is insane! Also, they cannot follow instructions. Seriously, plastic container on a hot pizza... its disgusting. This is why I put don't put it on the pizza for that item. The only savings grace here is that now I won't feel as guilty for not eating that half of this bad pizza I cannot justify spending 35$ after delivery tip for this ever again. And you should not as well, dear reader So long Lorenzo

I have been a loyal customer of lorenzos pizza on Vanier, for a long time. I even would refer them. Last night was a nightmare. I was sent burnt pizza with no sauce on the pizza, at all! I have two small boys who are in bed by 8pm, and whom just came back from a long day outside. As soon as we realized there was no sauce, we called to let them know. It took 30 minutes before talking to the acting manager, he then argued with me saying there was "no way" there wasn't sauce on that pizza but that he would send me another pizza. I then explained that "yes way" there was no sauce... I told him that we had pieces left to show him but he refused to want to see it. Yes , my boys ate pieces because they were starving but I had to tell them to stop eating so I could show the pizza place. I had to feed them something else because it was bedtime soon! Then, the acting manager said that he would no longer send the pizza because I dared to disagreed that there was no sauce!

Out of courtesy I phoned the owner today to explain the situation. I told him I wanted a refund. He said he wouldn't because we ate some of the pizza!! He then told me, he would send me a new pizza today instead. He was super rude, so i said no thank you! I'm done here! I've worked in the service industry in the past. I know the biz. This guy does not deserve my business anymore. I will definitely go somewhere else., and stop all referrals. This is an ongoing problem from what I've read from the reviews here. One more loyal customer gone! Horrible experience. Especially with two small kids. My 7 year old knows what's up: he said that "the pizza man money stole our money." He's...
