Lucky Star Chinese Food — Restaurant in Ottawa

First time ordering from this establishment and I can confidently say it is now my new go to when the urge strikes for a top quality chinese food meal.

The vegetable fried rice was packed with veggies,fresh, moist and extremely flavorful.

Egg rolls,both open and closed ended were crispy, well spiced. (without overpowering cinnamon or ginger) They were well balanced, the inside soft, tasty with a bit of crunch from veg. Plum sauce is not too sweet, but thick and savory. Absolutely the best egg rolls I've had in years.

The star of my order was the mushroom egg foo young. Generous amount of vegetables tucked into a well seasoned,fluffy omelet covered in the most luscious,thick, brown gravy,perfection!

I ordered online which was straightforward and clear. Added special instructions which were made and confirmed at pick up.

I called at 4:20 to gave my order for delivery. The lady mentioned they were busy and I asked if I would get it at 6pm and was told it should not be a problem. I called back at 6:10 and was informed by the same lady that my order was up next to be prepared. I confirmed: So after 1 hour 40 minutes of my initial call they had not even started my order? Her answer, Yep, do you still want it? What poor customer service, not even an apology. Like a had a choice with people waiting to eat. Therefore, I drove there to get my $175 order. This is not the first time, why would they not inform people, plain and simple, we can give no guarantee of the time tonight. Placed order on line and received confirmation and time for pick-up 1 1/2 hours later. Arrived at designated time and provided my phone number. After 15 minutes was asked if the order was under a different number. After 15 minutes more I inquired about my order and was assured that it was in progress. After 30 minutes I asked again and was assured that it was almost ready. When the order did not appear after 15 minutes I again inquired and after 10 minutes was asked what I wanted to order as they could not find my order. WHY did you not tell me when I first arrived that you did not have my confirmed order. You wasted my time and were not up front from the beginning. I have been a customer since you opened in Orleans but will NEVER order from Lucky Star again and will relate my frustrating experience...
