Nestled in the heart of Ottawa, Madhuban is a culinary gem that tantalizes taste buds with its authentic Indian flavors. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with the aroma of spices and the promise of a memorable dining experience.
First and foremost, let's talk about the food. It's simply phenomenal. Each dish bursts with vibrant colors and bold flavors, reflecting the richness of Indian cuisine. Whether you're a fan of creamy butter chicken, samosa chat, or aromatic biryani, you'll find your taste buds dancing with joy here.
One standout dish that I highly recommend is the kadhai paneer. The paneer is grilled to perfection, boasting a smoky flavor that pairs beautifully with the tangy marinade. It's an absolute delight for vegetarians and meat-lovers alike. Another must-try is the dal makhani, a creamy lentil curry that's both comforting and indulgent.
Aside from the main dishes, the appetizers and sides are equally impressive. The samosas are crispy and golden, filled with a savory potato filling that's downright addictive. And let's not forget about the fluffy naan bread, perfect for scooping up every last bit of sauce.
In addition to the incredible food, the ambiance at Madhuban is warm and inviting. Whether you're dining with friends, family, or that special someone, you'll feel right at home here. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable, always ready to offer recommendations or cater to any dietary preferences.
Overall, dining at Madhuban is a gastronomic journey that's not to be missed. With its exceptional food, welcoming atmosphere, and top-notch service, it's no wonder this restaurant is a favorite among locals and visitors alike. So, do yourself a favor and pay them a visit. Your taste buds...
Read moreWe were visiting Ottawa with kids and my younger son (5 yrs old) mostly eats Curry & Chapati. We were looking for a vegetarian option in Byward market but were disappointed to learn that all Indian restaurants put egg in their bread, so eating at the market was not an option for us. Upon Google search, we can across Madhuban, which is about 20 minutes walk from Byward market.
The restaurant was not so busy, which was comforting for us (due to fear of Covid). We ordered Dal Makhni, Kadhai paneer, Tandoori Roti, & Indian salad and requested to be made a little lighter (less usage of any kind of cream). After ordering food, we were served with papadum. We rec'd food after a wait of about 20 minutes. The food was fresh, made to our taste and quantity was reasonable. Particularly, kids were happy to taste the food. We re-ordered kadhai paneer. In sweet-dish, we ordered house made Gulab Jamun, which were served hot and was really tasty.
Mr. Bhagat Rawat, Chef & Owner of the restaurant, took care of us during our stay. He was very humble and respectful and shared a bit of his and restaurant's history.
Overall, we had a great experience while dining in and would 200% recommend anyone to try his hidden gem while in Ottawa.
All the best to Team Madhuban to keep serving...
Read moreSome of the best Indian food we've had!!!! So good. Eat in or take out, food is incredible!!!! Eating in, the service is great - friendly, fast, and always enthusiastic to talk about the food, made fresh in house (and you can tell - exceptional quality!!!). Take out is always hot and well-packaged. We've tried many to most of the things on the menu and everything has been excellent. Our faves are the vindaloo, curry, and korma. Their butter chicken is also excellent. Naan is sooooo melt in your mouth. I cannot praise Madhuban enough. We often place a large order on Saturday morning on lazy weekends and then eat it all weekend long - warm, comforting, and delicious. For spice, medium has a little back-end heat, but nothing that would be considered a burn. If you don't like spicy at all, I suggest sticking with mild. If you like a little kick, medium is for you. Their spicy will give you a bit of a sweat, but will not leave your mouth on fire. The spice is so well-incorporated that it is flavour first with kick on the end. You can eat a full plate of spicy and still have tastebuds at the end to keep indulging in seconds. If you want a real treat, give Madhuban a try. You'll...
