On the day of August 09 2025 approximately at 2 pm. I entered the restaurant on Montreal road near 174. This is my first time filing a complaint about this or any McDonald’s. The problem I had was with the staff member that displayed a poor character of customer service. During my interaction with this person, i was made to feel second class, I was lied to, given misinformation, spoken down upon and the person was hesitant to refund me for there mistakes.
As I already stated, I entered the restaurant. I walked to the cash register. The person was at the cash register I guess counting receipts but at any rate, they were at the cash register occupied. I stood waiting for maybe 20 seconds until I was acknowledged. I then requested a vanilla Sunday. Not a chocolate or strawberry Sunday. Please no toppings just the plain vanilla ice cream as a sundae. After, a moment of typing codes and discount on the cash register, a price appeared on the register that was different from the previous occasion I was at that McDonald’s location. I did not say or point out the discrepancy with the person behind the register, I only wanted to be on my way with my purchase. The person typed on my receipt 1 vanilla cone. ($2.30) The person presented to me a vanilla cone. I told them I made no such order, I requested a sundae in a cup with a spoon. The person told me that he was not going to charge me more money for giving me a cup. And he placed the cone upside down into an empty cup. I continued to explain that my order was for a sundae with no toppings. As well I was charged more than the sundae cost during this season( $2.10 with tax) . The person took back the upside down cone in a cup. Returned to the cash machine frustrated that that did not satisfy my order. He explained that sundae are no longer available at that price. And he would need to charge me more. I told him to stop as I walked over to the do it yourself order stand. And pointed out that the screen is showing the $2 sundae available. The person turned around and finally made my order the way I had intended. Putting vanilla ice cream into a cup with a spoon. I pointed out as well that I was over charged and was in need of a $0.20 refund. The person looked at my receipt order and gave me back $ 0.10. I told them that $ 2.30 - $ 2.10 = $0.20. They again had to open the cash to refund me. I feel the reluctance and lack of customer service, talking under his breath and the tone of that I am taking advantage of the system by having him make me a sundae without toppings, the lies and misinformation were enough to say that this person was not made to be in the service industry. I hope in future that when I go to that location someone will assist me that will not have me wait at the cash register til they are ready to serve me, smile and say hi welcome to McDonald’s. Not type a bunch of codes and discount to modify my order price to make it so it fits there level of work they want to display at the moment. They will not make me fell 2 nd class and speak to me under their breath. They won’t have me feel like my order is putting them out of business or making a request that is unreasonable. They won’t display frustration with making a refund for an error that they...
Read moreThere have been moments of slight redemption (Louise was amazing), but overall, this McDonald’s has been a train wreck over the years.
There are constantly flies roaming around the entire restaurant, it took them forever to fix the damaged lobby seats, but worst of all...
The incompetence level is astronomical. I believe it all stems from a terrible culture created by the managers.
One time I was waiting for some food, and I remember a salty manager scolded an employee for mistakenly putting an extra pump of caramel on a customer’s sundae. Instead of giving the perfectly good (actually better) sundae to the customer, the manager threw out the sundae and ordered the employee to make a new one. Talk about a LOSER for a leader. This shocked me and it’s something I’ll always remember about this McDonald’s.
I realized that I’ve never actually received a 100% correct order in the drive thru. Today, I ordered 3 sandwiches. I pulled up to the 2nd window to see the employee writing down the details of the vehicle that was just ahead of me. Clearly she (or someone) had forgotten to give them something. When I got my order, I received 2 sandwiches. I asked for the receipt because I ordered 3, but they couldn’t provide it... I just drove off.
About 8-9 years ago, I actually used to work at this McDonald’s. The culture wasn’t much better back then either. I vividly recall multiple occasions of refusing unsafe work orders from managers who asked me to go dumpster diving, or carry the sharp fry bay to the back sink. I remember being written up for stealing money when it was later determined that a manager miscounted, and I also remember being blamed for an incident of harassment in which I was a victim just doing my job.
A few years after I left, I heard through the grape vine that the majority of their managers, including the store manager, had all quit alongside many employees within a 1-week span. I can imagine that this left the remaining manager (yes, singular) and store owner scrambling to find replacements. I don’t think this McDonald’s has ever recovered from this.
Anyways, enough with my rant. Louise, who is no longer there, earned this location an extra star just because of her hospitality and focus on customer...
Read moreI normally come to this McDonalds every morning to grab a coffee and some food. The reason why I always come to this location is to see Bills cheery face and I know many others come to this location strictly for Bill as well, especially in the morning. He is hands down this locations best employee. I realized that Bill was not there at his normal shift times and started to questions where he went. Eventually I came later in the day one day, saw him and asked where he went and why he was off the morning shift. He simply told me that they needed him to do the 11-7pm shift for “security” during COVID. I know Bill loves his early morning shifts and I think that it’s horrible that management would treat their best employee this way and not give him the shift we all know he wants and deserves. I think management should give him exactly what he wants, especially being one of this locations longest standing employees and best employees. I highly suggest that management stops taking advantage of people and quickly emends this and finds someone else to do your so called “security” from 2-7pm. I just want to add that Bill had nothing bad to say about the shift hours or management (of course he didn’t, he’s way too nice to talk bad about anything or anyone). Just because it’s McDonalds does not mean that you have to be inconsiderate to your employees. Just incase you didn’t realize this, it actually costs $0 to be a nice person.
This location frequently messes up my order, but I was still coming to this location because Bill made sure everything was well taken care of and brightens many people’s day. I will be going to the Innes road McDonalds to buy my items, but will be coming by often just to check to see if Bill got his regular shifts back and only then will I go back to this location.
I know many other people that go to this location in the morning and want to see Bill back on his normal shift.
Come on, how hard is it to find someone to work 2-7pm doing “security”. What a joke..
CHANGE BILLS SHIFT AND MAYBE I’LL CHANGE MY REVIEW OF...
