Hung Fatt Chinese Restaurant...food — Restaurant in Ottawa

If I could give these people a zero stars rating I would. we just ordered Cantonese chow mein which was disgusting and had a ketchup barbecue sauce with pork that wasn’t even cooked and full of fat. Cantonese chow mein signature sauce is the transparent white sauce.

The eggrolls were pink inside and taste like they used spam or Kam to fill the eggroll anyone stating that the egg rolls are the best they’ve ever had have never actually had a real egg-roll.

The chicken fried rice tasted like MSG and bloated my stomach within five minutes of eating at which told me that MSG was used in the preparation of the rice. Within five minutes of eating the rice my girlfriend and I experienced extreme abdominal cramping.

The worst part was that the food had a flavor as if you took a dishrag that you use to clean the countertops with and you run it out over all the food after wiping your counters down all day.

Even more disappointing their customer service when I called them to let them know about the issues they’re only response was

“if you don’t like it go somewhere else.”

If you eat here you are getting ripped off. Do not give your hard earned dollars to these children making sub par Canadian Chinese food that even a Chinese person would not eat if they were starving for three months and had no food whatsoever but this option.

On Monday I am going to call an Inspector. I am keeping all the food to bring to an inspector on Monday.

The dishes look good, but... their flavours have much room for improvement.

Pros: Generous portions

Cons: All eight dishes were excessively seasoned with salt and MSG, not to mention everything is extremely greasy; the mushroom egg foo young was so salty that each of us had one bite and stopped having a second serving. What a waste! If only I knew how to remove the salty taste from it!!

Inadequate seasoning: the Singaporean noodles taste bland while it's supposed to be slightly spicy and salty.

Overall taste: there's something off for each dish; unsure if it's the quality of seasonings or their mixture of seasonings. They definitely don't taste genuine or authentic.

Over $100 of order and not a single fortune cookie!?!?

Four hours after the meal and am still...

Food not as expected, too spicy, small portion and expense. Will not order from here again.

We ordered the Kung Pao chicken and our guests laughed at the look of the dish. We all had to search the small takeout out container for the chicken... There was barely any. The dish was basically a lot of too spicy brown water with some brocolli. Nobody finished the dish and nobody wanted it for leftovers (even of it was good there certainly wasn't enough food for leftovers).

I usually take photos of restaurant food for Google reviews.... This meal was subpar and it looked so bad I didn't even want to take a picture. Unfortunately for people considering buying food here can't see how bad it looks because I forgot to take a picture. I'm sorry folks. Just do your best to avoid...
