Horrible location. Have had almost uncountable bad experiences regarding the use of Uber/Skip with this particular Mc Ds. I live two minutes away, and the number of times things are delivered cold/melted is absurd.
My most recent experience has been an order consisting of fries, nuggets, a smoothie and a slushie. It took 30 minutes to be given to my delivery drive, and the temperature of the food certainly supported this. The fries and nuggets were stone cold, the slushie and smoothie near completely melted. I assume the food was made quickly, and then sat on the counter without anyone going out to give it to the driver for a very extended period of time, given the driver arrived at the location within 5 minutes of me placing the order, and sat there for upwards of 20-30 before FINALLY heading to my house, which took roughly 2 minutes.
How are these standards even remotely acceptable? And that is just the most RECENT experience. Have had numerous mc flurries just missing ingredients, the most hilarious of cases being when I ask for extra of an ingredient and they just add none. There seems to be zero quality standards being enforced here and I would advise literally no one order from this location. Going in person has been fine, can always correct things but to my memory have never messed up when I've been there in person. But late night ordering? Forget it. The overnight staff clearly don't care whatsoever about quality or timely service.
Probably the worst Mc Ds in Ottawa for delivery, which is a shame because its so close by.
Update (6/20/2023)! Decided to try them again due to a promotion on Doordash and their new wraps are great from other locations. Yet this location never ceases to amaze as they fail to read instructions for the order and to make it worse they do the opposite. Remove the cheese? They remove everything but the cheese! Remove tomatoes? They stuff the tomatoes in there! This location is going to kill someone who has an allergy some day if corporate doesn't take a look at the workplace standards and attention to detail. Only updating because this is twice in a row that they removed everything but the cheese when cheese was to be removed. Don't order from here, if you want to eat then please go in person. At least you can get your food remade when...
Read moreI suspect this location is not cleaning their coffee machines or replacing the oil they fry the fries in and reheating old fries. I have tried this location a few times and then skipped it for several months because every time I go, the coffee is disgusting. Its bitter and tastes old. Like a dirty machine? Or it's coffee that was made in the morning 8hrs ago and they don't want to dump it and "waste money"? I don't understand why all the other locations it tastes exactly as it should - but here it is gross. They do try to remake the coffee for me and are nice to me but it still tastes disgusting. It's vile. Once it tasted good and I think they must have cleaned the machine that day. This is my assumption because it's still gross when they remake the coffee. Today I just gave them back the coffee when they remade it and left. Couldnt be bothered with a refund.
The fries here don't taste fresh but they are usually passable. But today they have a funny aftertaste. I assume they are not following proper cleaning protocols. It's never busy at this location despite being in a PRIME location. So perhaps they are cutting corners and not throwing out old stale/cold food or old coffee when it doesn't sell. the mom's at the playgroup tell me not to come here and to go to Tim Hortons instead. So I believe I'm not the only one finding the food and coffee to be very OFF. I am a medical courier so I visit tons of tim hortons and McDonald's in Ottawa and many other towns and cities. This particular location on several visits has consistently been terrible. Even after not coming here for months in the hopes it had improved as this location is perfect for me when I leave the playgroup.
This location is not busy but other locations are. I'm positive it's the quality of their food - i.e serving old food that has sat around for hours or old coffee or not cleaning coffee machines, clewning the fryer as often as they should, etc. customers can taste when quality goes down and they stop eating at that location. So I highly recommend this location stop cutting corners, improve their quality and treat customers with respect that give you money to keep your doors open. Do that and more people will come back when eat here again. Otherwise I wouldn't be surprised if this location closes...
Read moreIts just plain sad that there is no idea of customer service or retention. And when the onus is on them for inconveniencing a customer they should try and do something to try to correct the situation. I drive to a MacDonalds that is supposed to be open 24 hours but they are updating or whatever nonsense they do every morning and can not take any orders for 20-30 minutes. First off, in this day and age how can it be possible that there is anything any "system" would have to do that shuts the business down for half an hour. It is completely unreal that this is considered acceptable and that some solution to still take payment can be figured out. They are still serving the skip the dishes orders with all the skip the dishes drivers driving there. And secondly I explained to the lady working that I just wanted a coffee and I was on the way to work and did not have time to wait. Now I go here at least once a day sometimes twice for coffee, which I will most definitely not be doing anymore, so you think that they could just offer me a coffee since it is an inconvenience they are causing me as a loyal customer. A cup of coffee costs them nothing and it would have been a small gesture that would have went a long way to pleasing and retaining a customer. Instead she made me feel like mcdonalds was so in need of that $1.xx that if I had cash or a coupon she could have helped me but because I only had debit at the moment there was nothing she could do for me. You're restaurant hours are listed as 24 hours! If you have some nonsense that inhibits your ability to fulfill this the least you could do is give someone a coffee for there time and gas wasted driving there. Now instead you have turned me off your Mcdonalds, and honestly all mcdonalds, completely and I will never buy anything from you again and do my best to inform others and try and steer them away from your establishment. This is not the first issue I have had here, as one of your managers is belligerent, and, I am pretty sure, prejudice towards certain types of customers. Anyway, quite the long winded review when all you had to do was offer me a coffee. Thanks for sending me to your competitor and turning me off of your brand completely. Great customer...
