Morning Owl Manotick — Restaurant in Ottawa

My wife and I visited today as we like to support local Manotick businesses (we live in town) and I must say I’m shocked and quite frankly disappointed. This is the most expensive coffee I’ve ever purchased. We were charged 16.78 for two medium iced coffees. Whether this was a mistake by the cashier or the actual price of the coffee is unclear. No prices offered online and the menu board inside is very unclear. If this was a mistake by the cashier, I get it being a new business and clearly having employees who have never worked in the business or operated the systems. If it wasn’t I have to say it was not even close to worth the money spent, when Starbucks quite frankly offers a superior product for less then half the price. The fantastic cafe Manotick really needed. All the staff are incredibly friendly, the coffee and food is amazing, and they've got 2 floors of seating. There are also a bunch of children's toys available upstairs to keep your kids busy. As for pricing, the drinks are fairly standard. The food is more expensive than other coffee shops, but it's always very fresh and high-quality, so I think it's justified. The only downside is that their free wifi blocks a bunch of harmless websites, including those for most local universities and colleges - so if you want to come study or work on assignments, you'll need to have your course material...

After taking a short drive from Ottawa we chose this delightful coffee house for a quick Break. Brock, the barista, and other staff were super friendly. He crafted a decalf Americano for me and a strawberry white tea for my wife. I usually find Americano coffee bitter but this one was smooth as silk! My wife loved the large selection of teas and also that they were rated for caffeine content. The baked goods looked delightful but my daily calorie counter was already full.
