I’ve been a loyal customer of Mr. Shawarma in Kanata for a very long time, and I can confidently say that this place has been consistently amazing over the years. Even after moving to Orléans, I still make the trip at least once a month just to pick up the family meal—that alone should tell you how special this place is!
One of the hardest things to find in a restaurant is consistency, and Mr. Shawarma has mastered it. Whether it's my first visit years ago or my most recent visit, the quality, taste, and service have remained top-notch. No matter how busy they get, the food is always prepared with care, precision, and the freshest ingredients.
The main reason I keep coming back is Chef Fino. He is not just a chef—he’s a true professional with years of experience, deep knowledge of the cuisine, and an unmatched level of hospitality. He treats every customer like family, always ensuring that the food is prepared with passion and cleanliness. His dedication to perfection is what keeps this place getting better and better with time.
I've tried many shawarma spots across Ottawa, and I can confidently say that Mr. Shawarma serves the BEST chicken shawarma in town! The meat is always juicy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, never dry or overcooked. And if you’re a beef shawarma fan, you won’t be disappointed—it’s just as delicious, with that perfect balance of spices and tenderness.
If you haven’t tried their homemade falafel, you’re missing out! Crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside—absolutely perfect. And honestly, everything on their menu is fantastic. From their garlic potatoes to their fresh salads and hummus, every item is made with care and quality.
If I could give Mr. Shawarma more than 5 stars, I would! It’s rare to find a place that stays so consistent over the years while continuously improving. Whether you’re a long-time shawarma lover or trying it for the first time, this is the place to go. You won’t regret it!
I highly recommend Mr. Shawarma to anyone looking for the best shawarma...
Read moreThe first time we ordered delivery, the food was amazing but items were missing. I called the store, they said I can come in and get them, I said that wasn't acceptable as I ordered and paid for delivery for a reason. They told me they would call the manager and call me right back. In 30 minutes they hadn't called back so I called and they got me to call the managers cell. He was a nice man and was profusely sorry so I gave him the benefit of the doubt and let it go. At this moment we have ordered a second time. After 15 minutes of waiting, my delivery order still wasn't confirmed, I called the store to ask what was happening and they said oops sorry they didn't see it come in. When I asked to double check the order as I had been missing things last time she hung up on me. I am literally mind blown as to how these employees are still working there after all the complaints. A word to the owner, they're ruining your business. Every one deserves a second chance, and never again, it's a shame because the foods great but you've just lost...

It was by far the worst fattoush I've had; the pickled turnip and the pickles were oddly disgusting, there were no pita chips, it was mostly raw cabbage instead of lettuce (probably because lettuce is expensive right now), and had very little dressing. I ended up picking out the pickles and pickled turnip which are usually my favourite part. There was also one random cherry tomato and very little sliced tomato. They didn't ask if we wanted more vegetables so if we didn't see them not putting anything else on, it would have been a cabbage "salad". It was such a poor experience that I will not be going back. Partner says the platter was okay, his pickles and turnip were also bad, of course. 3/5 stars for him. Garlic sauces and hummus were good. Employees were nice and the place was clean.
