New Town Chinese Food has become a bit of a tradition in our household, especially around the holidays. Whether it's Christmas Day, New Year’s, or any long weekend where we just don’t feel like cooking, this is our go-to spot, and it never disappoints. One of the things that stands out most about this place is how fast they are, even when they’re slammed with orders. You can tell they’ve got their operation down to a science.
The menu itself offers all the staples you'd expect from a classic Canadian-style Chinese restaurant. From sweet and sour chicken balls to chow mein, fried rice, General Tao, beef and broccoli, you name it, they’ve got it. The variety is solid, and whether you’re ordering a combo for one or a full spread for a group, there’s always something for everyone. It’s straightforward, familiar, and consistently tasty.
What really makes them stand out, though, are the portion sizes. They’re very generous, and you always feel like you’re getting great value for what you pay. Even the smaller combos are packed to the brim, and the larger family dinners can easily feed more people than advertised. We often have leftovers, which makes it even more worthwhile.
On top of all that, they’re one of the few places that stay open on holidays, which is honestly a lifesaver. There’s something comforting about knowing you can count on them when most other places are closed. And again, even when you expect delays due to the rush, they manage to get your order ready quickly and efficiently. They may not offer delivery, but the pickup process is seamless, and the staff are always polite, quick, and organized.
New Town may not be trying to reinvent the wheel, but that’s part of what makes it great. They know what their customers want: fast, familiar, satisfying food, and they consistently deliver. If you’re looking for reliable Chinese food in town that hits the spot every time, look no further. This place has earned its spot in our regular rotation and will probably stay there for...
Read moreSuch a shame. I've been ordering from this place for years now and the food is quite good. Much like others I have had frequent issues with inaccurate orders. Usually this is quite minor (spring rolls sent instead of egg rolls).
Tonight however i had a more significant issue. I was given chop suey instead of chow mein (it was the "house special chow mein" on the menu and my receipt). When i called to address this the owner argued with me that what i had been sent was in fact chow mein. No matter what you say, chow mein requires noodles. It can be a soft or a hard noodle but the key here is some sort of noodle. Bean sprouts and chicken is neither special nor a chow mein.
The very low grade is for the tone that the owner decided to take with me on the phone. You simply dont get to talk to me like that, you certainly dont get to talk to me like that when my own tone is calm, and you sure as heck dont get to talk to me like that when it is a recurrent problem brought on by you misleading your customers (check other reviews online and you will see this).
As i said before the food is good, but it isnt "that good". I will be giving my business to somewhere else after tonight.

Read moreI have been ordering from New Town for about 4 years now, but the quality never blew my mind. The thing that kept me going back was their breaded sweet and sour shrimp. Most of the time, the shrimp and the batter are good and cooked well.
Last night, however, was a different story. The batter was thin, the shrimp were not coated properly and inside they were shrunk down and dry with a metallic taste. I called New Town this morning to express my concern and asked if they could please redo just the shrimp and I'd pick it up later. I even offered to bring the shrimp by so the guy on the phone could see for himself. He claimed to have inspected the food before it was packaged and flat out refused 4 times even after I told him I spent over $65 in food.
Really bad customer service, in my opinion, especially to a previously loyal customer. I will not be supporting their mediocre food and business anymore and I recommend others...
