Capital Shawarma & Pies in Ottawa is a delightful spot that offers a unique blend of Middle Eastern flavors, combining traditional shawarma dishes with freshly baked pies. My recent visit left me impressed with both the quality of food and the overall dining experience.Atmosphere and Service The restaurant has a cozy, no-frills ambiance that focuses on creating a comfortable dining experience. The decor is simple, with a few Middle Eastern touches that add to the authenticity. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, eager to answer any questions and make recommendations based on preferences.Food Quality I decided to try a variety of dishes to get a full sense of their offerings. The chicken shawarma wrap was perfectly seasoned, with juicy, tender meat wrapped in a soft pita, complemented by crisp vegetables and a flavorful garlic sauce. The wrap was generously filled and satisfying.Another highlight was the mixed platter, which featured both chicken and beef shawarma, rice, salad, and hummus. The beef was equally as tender and well-marinated as the chicken, and the hummus was creamy and smooth, pairing well with their fresh pita bread.Value for Money The portions are quite generous, making it great value for money. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality and quantity of food provided. It's an excellent choice for a quick lunch or a casual dinner without breaking the bank.Overall Experience Capital Shawarma & Pies offers an enjoyable dining experience with delicious, authentic Middle Eastern cuisine. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty shawarma wrap or a savory pie, this place has you covered. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in Ottawa and looking for a...
Read moreThe restaurant is nice and the food is excellent! the staff are sometimes nice. but sometimes they get my order wrong like one time, i ordered 4 meat pies 2 of them with chesse and it was supposed to cost me around 15-20 dollars but the guy thought i said that i wanted 4 meat pies and 2 cheese pies and he said it will cost me 25 dollars. he stamped the brown bags so i don't see the meat pies and cheese pies and put it all in a bag i came back looking for a refund and the guy just put some cold cheese in the meat pie it was not that good. The staff are always trying to make jokes with me even when I'm not in the mood one guy acted like the store was closed and said that i was trying to STEAL as a joke..i got confused and he said iM JoKiNg, iM JoKiNg so then i just immediately left beceause i was not in the mood for a lame, not funny joke. But at least its a very tiny bit worth it beceause of the food so 3...
Read moreThe pies are decent . Given the high ratings, I would have expected more out of the sandwich. Garlic sauce was runny, not creamy. Potatoes were so bad I couldn't tell if they were overcooked or undercooked, chewy in a way potatoes shouldn't be...they toast your sandwich on the grill which is a plus, gives a nice crunchy favor with the pickles and turnips... Too bad garlic sauce was weak, I am surprised that given the number of shawarma shops in the city it doesn't cause the competition to step up their game. I suppose if you're in a high traffic area you can provide a low quality product and it's just a numbers game. Most places will charge a few extra dollars for a can upgrade to a bottle of ayran. Not here, the response is just a flat out NO. Just like my rating: NO this shawarma is not reflective of the diverse quality in...
