I visited PiCo to try out their main salad, which is 2 proteins/cheese and "endless" toppings. First of all, when I went there were only two people in front of us and watching the staff make their pizzas was kind of painful. They were painfully slow. BUT I have to say the pizzas look great when they come out of the oven.
As for the salad, there are a lot of toppings to choose from (which is better than Fiazza), but they don't really give you a lot of those toppings. Also, they don't keep all their veggies in one place, so as a customer, you have to walk back and forth depending on what you want to put on your salad. The salad was okay but the black olives tasted very soapy, so that was strange to me.
One thing I find kind of gross is that the glass separating the customers from the food is so low that you see people leaning over the glass to dictate what toppings they want. It seems unhygienic cause you know spit is inadvertently landing on those toppings.
As for logistics, I know PiCo is a new restaurant in Ottawa, but with locations in Toronto, you would think they'd be more aware about how to run the place efficiently. People started trickling in the restaurant and it felt chaotic very quickly. They weren't keeping up with the pace of customers.
My advice to management is that the staff needs to communicate and be consistent. If you are going to keep food delivery orders in one place, keep a receipt of the food delivery orders you're waiting to make, so when drivers come in and give you a number for a pizza that hasn't been ready yet, you're not confused out of your mind and treating the driver like they're lying (this was off-putting to me as a customer). In fact, put up a sign for drivers near the cash so they can walk right there instead of interfering with the flow of customers in the queue. The only person who should be interacting with the driver is the cashier, who should be aware of what has been made already and what is still pending (seriously, go watch Fiazza to see how they do it).
Additionally, create a board with all your toppings listed, so if someone wants a salad, they can look at that board and they don't have to walk back and forth to see all the toppings. That will also help to expedite the process.

Make it make sense 😂 maybe I could get a coupon for this disaster? Lol 😂 I'm a long time customer 😌 but I will never be getting a Margherita again.
My Reply to the email but love to share on here : Hello, I did a review about the Margherita pizza and it's ridiculous that you guys say that the pizza looks good??? Theres no cheese. Just sauce. I have bought a Margherita before there, it doesn't fall apart and wiggle raw dough in the middle. It also doesn't have a ripped hole in the middle thats extremely questionable. I showed a few people and they were disgusted. There was 1 leaf of Basil stuck at the bottom of the box, not even on top of the pizza. Saying you guys would have loved a review sooner is a slap in the face. Since the reply back was awful, I wont be ordering from you guys again and next take full responsibility for when a cook there doesn't do their job. I even got a refund back from skip the dishes because they said it looked awful and they are so sorry. At least they apologized for the actions of your company. I didn't take one bite as it was raw dough, threw it in the trash. Read moreI was really hesitant to leave a bad review because the couple times I’ve had this place it was excellent, but today left such a bad taste in my mouth I don’t know if I’ll order again.
I ordered through the online portal for delivery. A cheese pizza and a margherita, a Caesar dip, a hot honey dip, and a ginger ale.
Upon delivery, I immediately knew something was up. The delivery driver forgot the drink and dipping sauces and shrugged it off. He said “it was busy” and left. Not a care in the world.
Then I open up the pizzas and they are both cold and haven’t been cut. Unacceptable.
I call into the store to complain and ask for resolution, the worker at the store didn’t even care. “I’ll pass off a note to my supervisor and they will get back to you some time tomorrow, this is why I don’t use those apps”.
So now I have 2 cold pizzas, none of the extras I ordered, and they don’t even care enough to resolve it tonight. Absolutely appalling service and it would be best to avoid...
