Blumenstudio — Local services in Ottawa

The shop is lovely and they seem to have beautiful plants and flowers, however the owner could use a lesson in customer service. Not only did I feel so unwelcomed in their shop, the owner came across extremely pretentious which really surprised me as all the reviews I've seen have been great. I was inquiring on ordering bouquets for my upcoming wedding and she quickly dismissed the idea when I told her I did not need table arrangements. Her words "we don't just do bouquets so maybe you should think about that." I was extremely disappointed in her professionalism or lack of. I have previously worked in the wedding industry for an international bridal designer and never have I dismissed anyone so quickly regardless of their questions and needs. Especially because she owns the business! If she said something like "our normal business doesn't focus on bridal bouquets, we focus more on events but I would be more than happy to sit down with you to see if we would be a good fit for your event" then fine....but she was very dismissive. I would not recommend them to anyone. There are plenty of other high quality floral boutiques in Ottawa I'd rather support. Maybe if she would have had a bit more class and was not so snotty I would of ordered table arrangements from her as I have not made up my mind on table arrangements just yet..something this shop should think about if they want to survive in this economy. I had flowers delivered to my office from my husband as a birthday present. When I opened them the flowers were fair looking only. The arrangement would have been beautiful had the 11 red roses in it been fresh, but they were so old and slightly black and in tight little balls as they had grown old before they had a chance to open. I called the florist back as I was only 1 street away expecting them to come and see them and fix the arrangement, but instead I spoke with Kat, the owner, who was quite rude and not apologetic at all who tried to assure me they would open. I explained that the pink roses were very nice, but the red ones were dead. Again no apology, no "We'll fix it up for you" Nothing... It's now day 2, the red roses look even worse and my husband is out $100. I love receiving flowers and have never complained before with any florist, but I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS FLORIST AT ALL They made a big mistake and...

I walked in on Mother’s Day close to 1PM, not sure what to expect as there was a bit of a lineup ahead of me. Nothing was available and so they asked if I was okay with waiting 15 minutes for their florist to create a bouquet. They took down my name and number and then showed me around, what flowers they had available, and asked what price point I was thinking which I thought was very considerate. Their studio space is cozy, and I was able to wait on their terrace space where they keep their potted outdoor plants. I also picked up a bunch of Eucalyptus, which is sold by weight. The bouquet their florist designed was gorgeous, and wrapped with care. Appreciative that they were able to make something so beautiful on the spot. My Mom loved them.
