Farm Boy is a grocery store that manages to stand out in a crowded market, and it does so with a unique blend of offerings and a commitment to quality that's hard to beat. In this review, I'll delve into my experience at Farm Boy, highlighting key aspects such as the variety of produce, the prepared food options, the convenience factors, and the overall atmosphere.
Let's start with the heart of any grocery store – the produce section. Farm Boy excels in this department, offering a diverse and impressive array of fresh produce. What sets them apart is their dedication to quality, which is evident in their commitment to sourcing locally when possible. Organic options are plentiful, catering to health-conscious shoppers who prefer pesticide-free and environmentally friendly choices. Whether you're looking for crisp, vibrant vegetables or the juiciest fruits, Farm Boy delivers in spades.
Now, let's talk about the prepared food section. It's a true feast for the eyes and the palate. Farm Boy offers a wide selection of pre-prepared meals, from hearty soups and sandwiches to gourmet salads and hot dishes. These options are not only visually appealing but also taste as good as they look. It's the perfect solution for those busy days when you want a delicious meal without the hassle of cooking. The quality and variety of their prepared food are impressive, making it a go-to spot for a quick, tasty meal.
One aspect of Farm Boy that adds to its convenience factor is the availability of a sitting area upstairs. This is a feature that many grocery stores lack but can make a significant difference for shoppers who want to enjoy their meal immediately or take a break during their shopping trip. It's a thoughtful addition that enhances the overall shopping experience.
Speaking of convenience, Farm Boy offers an "Express Cash" lane for shoppers with 1 to 8 items. This speeds up the checkout process significantly, making it a breeze to grab a few essentials and get on with your day. It's a small touch, but it demonstrates Farm Boy's attention to detail and their commitment to customer satisfaction.
The parking situation at Farm Boy may be a bit tight at times, but the fact that it's available is a plus. In crowded urban areas, finding parking at a grocery store can be a challenge, so having dedicated parking spaces, even if limited, is a welcome feature. It shows that Farm Boy is considerate of their customers' needs.
One of the standout aspects of Farm Boy is their friendly and knowledgeable staff. The employees here go beyond the basics of stocking shelves and checking out customers. They are always willing to answer questions, provide guidance, and direct you to the right area if you're looking for something specific. This level of customer service enhances the overall shopping experience and makes you feel valued as a customer.
In conclusion, Farm Boy is a grocery store that excels in multiple areas. From their diverse and high-quality produce selection to their enticing prepared food options, they cater to a wide range of shopper needs. The convenience factors, such as the upstairs sitting area and Express Cash lane, make the shopping experience even more enjoyable. Despite the occasionally tight parking, Farm Boy's commitment to customer service shines through, thanks to their friendly and helpful staff. If you're looking for a grocery store that combines quality, convenience, and variety, Farm Boy is definitely...
Read moreThis Farm Boy has some outdoor parking and is close to Bridgehead, Bushtukah and Natural Food Pantry. There is also underground parking which will be validated for up to 90 minutes with a minimum purchase. Maybe, it is the time of day/evening that I come and always manage to find a parking spot above ground.
I like all of their stone oven Pizzas. My favourite is the Marguerite (*Margherita) drizzled with oil infused spices. The pizza is a thin dough crust which I was not sure that I would like, yet was pleasantly surprised.
The premade food beside the Deli counter is pricey. However, the sides are excellent and a lifesaver when unexpected company arrives (it is always the sides that are time consuming and not the Main Course). I tried the Ginger Carrots, Sweet Potato, Bacon and Brussels Sprouts.
I like their hummus and my new favourite is the Tunisian Style Hummus. I also like their Spicy Edamame Dip. All of the Kifer Dips are tasty and they now even make Tofu Dips. The Double-Baked Pita Crackers, Rice Crackers, Hannah (*Hanna's) Pita Bread compliment the Farm Boy Dips. The Sugar Cinnamon Crisps pair nicely with their flavoured cream cheeses.
If my son is in the mood for Pulled Pork, (who has the time to make such a time consuming dish) I package it up from the salad Bar and use my Salad Bar card, at check out. I pick up Brioche Buns and they compliment the Pulled Pork quite nicely.
This Farm Boy has Pussy Willows available when in season. And always have a nice selection of flowers/plants through...
Read moreVery reliable in terms of stock, and nice product presentation. Personable cashiers who ask you how your day is and seem to care about your answer. The people who work here seem to enjoy their jobs. What a nice change from the norm! The only bad thing about this store is the supposed 'free parking' underneath, managed by Indigo. This is the worst parking lot imaginable. It explains why people clog the outside lot waiting for a spot. Nobody wants to park in this lot. You get a voucher that is supposed to take care of the parking fee but it only works half the time. Seriously- 50% of visits the parking pay machine will ask for the voucher and discount the parking. The other half of the time it spits out your parking ticket and tells you to go to the gate where you need to pay to get out. And always a lineup of cars behind so calling the "help" button will just make the whole lineup enraged because they don't answer. You just have to pay. The staff in the store seem used to these complaints and just want you to call Indigo,...
