SFR Distillery — Restaurant in Ottawa

SFR Distillery is such a great spot and honestly feels like a hidden gem. The vibe here is super cool—very relaxed and welcoming. I can imagine if it got really busy, it would still be a fun, chill place to hang out. We went before a hockey game, and it was the perfect pre-game stop. The atmosphere was awesome, and they even had some drink specials going on for game day, which made it even better.

The food really stood out—everything we tried was fresh, well-made, and really tasty. It’s nice to go to a place where both the food and drinks are equally great. The space itself is very clean and well laid out, with lots of room to hang out without feeling crowded.

One of my favourite parts is the brewery section, where you can see the big stainless steel brewing tanks/fermenters and brew kettles, where the beer is made. It’s such a cool feature and adds a nice industrial touch to the space.

On top of that, the service was fantastic—everyone was friendly, helpful, and made sure we had a great experience. Highly recommend stopping in, whether you’re grabbing food and drinks before a game or just looking for a fun, relaxed spot to spend time...

I want to start off by saying that my visit of the distillery was great and the staff was great! I wish there was a way to rate the product Vs the place of business. The reason I am only giving it 3 stars is that while I was there I sampled some Poitin and it was quite palatable so I purchased a bottle to take home with me. After opening the bottle a strong scent of wet hay and freshly cut grass jumped in my nose. I poured myself a dram and began sipping it. The aroma and flavors are so intense that it reminds me of Baijiu. A strong Chinese liqueur that is hard to swallow. I tried infusing it to add other flavors but the base is too intense and overpowering that I won't be able to enjoy it. I wanted to visit Stratford Fox Run Distillery for a tour while I had family visiting from out of the country. They’re big into whiskey and distilleries, and we thought this would be a really fun experience. I tried calling a week in advance to schedule a tour, as suggested on their website. I never heard back. I also submitted the online form, sent an email directly, and called two more times, but still no response.
