Updated review and pictures on Sunday, 19 May 2019: The owner of the Montana's in Kanata reached out to me shortly after I completed a survey online. We communicated through email and on the telephone, the discussion we had was pleasant and, on Friday, he invited my girlfriend and I to go back so we could experience Montana's the way we've come to know it at other locations. We went back today and ordered the same meals that we had the time prior, and any time we visit a Montana's restaurant. When my girlfriend's buttermilk chicken came it looked amazing, and she was extremely satisfied with her meal. When my chicken and waffle sandwich came out it too looked amazing, the waffle was golden brown and I couldn't wait to bite into it. I picked it up with both hands and flipped it upsidedown to take the first of many bites and that's when we saw that the bottom waffle was heavily burnt. Disappointed I set the sandwich down, and politely asked the server for another waffle. Just like the time before she offered to bring out a brand new sandwich but I declined and assured her I was going to be fine with a new waffle. The manager on shift brought out the new waffles, and apologized. As did the server whenever she came to check up on us anytime thereafter. I was hoping to be able to update this review differently but cannot since the same issue occured tonight. Next time I may just have to settle for something else.

My girlfriend and I usually frequent the Montana's at South Keys and we have no complaints, but today we visited this location. We were filling our bellies before seeing Detective Pikachu and the food we got was burnt. I want to make it clear that our server didn't serve us the meals, it was brought by a different wait staff. My date had the buttermilk chicken and I had the chicken waffle sandwich. My waffles were burnt beyond belief. We talked between us and agreed that it would be easier to eat the food than it would be to complain. Unfortunately all I could taste was the scorched waffles as I bit into the sandwich. It was overwhelming and unsettling. I brought the attention to our waiter who was more than willing to help, he asked if I needed a new sandwich but I assured him new waffles would be more than enough. It was rectified fairly quick but I'm still unsettled that the chef and the serving member of the staff thought it was okay to serve an item that charred. It tasted deplorable. Our staff was great and accommodating but the other staff was not, I regret spending $60 at this establishment when a McDonald's meal would have filled me up for half the cost and...

UPDATE: I have edited my review from 2 stars to 3 due to the managers great response to my complaint. I tried the food again, getting wings again to see if anything improved, and unfortunately they were still dry, with barely any sauce. I also got ribs which were burnt on top and dry. This was a Sunday evening order. My suspicion is food is being made earlier in the day and kept in a warmer likely due to COVID, as when we went in the restaurant was not busy at all. However, the time I got wings when the restaurant was very busy they were perfect, which makes me think maybe they ran out of premade ones and had to make them fresh which is why they were great that one time. Unfortunately since then they have not been good.

Here is my original review: Take out quality is not trustworthy. Just got an order of wings that were totally dry with hardly any sauce/flavour. Many wings were inedible, clearly being over cooked with the chicken rock hard and could actually be cracked in half. Two blue cheeses that came with it were half empty. I previously had wings from here and they were amazing, so saucy and the blue cheese sauce was one of the best with lots of pieces of real cheese and a full container.
