Shawarma Prince — Restaurant in Ottawa

I ordered a fattoush salad to go and the container it comes in was TINY.. I asked if they don't use the black one anymore and the guy said that's the one for the chicken/beef platter.. and told me "it's not too late to change it" I said "ok". (He never mentioned I would be charged extra) I paid (without noticing the total) came home and saw the receipt for $17.52. And beware they charge for tabule and never mention it. I clearly asked the guy if they charge for it and he said NO! I contacted the owner through Facebook and he gave me attitude. It's obvious that I would've NOT accepted the black container if I knew they would charge $3 more. And to top it off.. I found a disgusting hair in my salad! No hygiene whatsoever.. poor customer service. I had to throw everything away. This is what the owner said (which BTW blocked me) Hello, the price u paid is for a platter and this container they gave you is the one we use for platter, looks to me that they added taboulé and double up the salad.

Don’t come here unless you’re looking to get yelled at/food poisoning . They sell spoiled hummus and if you call them out they become very unprofessional. We came in for a container of hummus, they wanted to give me one from the fridge, we requested a fresh one as every time they’ve given me one from the fridge it has already gone bad and goes straight in the garbage. His “solution” was to put a spoon of fresh hummus on top of the days-old hummus. We returned and asked for a fresh one, the employee immediately became defensive and rude. He yelled at us, called us rude, and said we don’t know what we’re talking about because he gave us “fresh hummus”. He demanded that we call my sister who was the one to initially come in and while on speaker, tell us if he really gave her one from the fridge, which she confirmed. Only after we proved what he said to be false did he finally give us a fresh container but with loads of attitude. Don’t order here unless you’re ready to fight. Been here a few times, I'm usually greeted with indifference and the slightest essence of disdain for my patronage. Although I try to support local Barrhaven businesses, this place has lost my business moving forward.

Ordered the ~$75 family shawarma platter with my hard earned money and understand these are inflationary times but chicken was dry and although looks good laid out on the platter, is merely illusory because it is a single thinly spread out layer of protein on the platter.

Don't dare ask for anything extra like tomatoes or onions, or you may experience the look of anger like I did. How dare you ask the Prince for a handout? You get what you get and don't get upset.

So although not as fresh as it used to be, you do get less food for more money, and you do get extra attitude for free. And don't forget to tip for picking up your own food!
